7 House members arrested at Sudan embassy
FREDERIC J. FROMMER
Associated Press
WASHINGTON - Seven members of the Congressional Black Caucus were arrested at the Embassy of Sudan Tuesday, after protesting over atrocities in the Darfur region of the wartorn nation.

"We will not tolerate genocide," said Rep. Mel Watt, D-N.C., the caucus chairman. "...We are saying to Sudan this has got to stop."

The seven members were hauled off in Secret Service cars after receiving three warnings that they were violating the law by blocking the entrance to an embassy. They faced $50 fines and were expected to be released after booking.

"Not on our watch," said Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., "Not on our watch will we allow another genocide to take place." She wore a green T-shirt that read, "End the Darfur Genocide."

6. Why do you want to export freedom to ME, when none is given to you here?

Your member of Congress should be defending you from unwarranted wiretaps questioning your government about your rights, instead they parade to the Sudanese embassy.

Excuse my rant about governments!

yet I doubt Ms. Pelosi sees it that way. She would rather see members of Congress take up useless issues (marching to Sudanese embassy) and other unproductive issues she thinks is good for the democrats.

10. The Black Congressional Caucus
has more guts in their little fingers and I am not black, so that shoots that theory... They speak up for our rights all the time and they spoke up in 2000....

Since we do they have any say as to what is happening in Congress might I ask?? With the majority Republicans passing all these fluff bills, I could see where you would think that :sarcasm:

11. Speaking of the black caucus
they number few, and indeed have very little say when decisions from higher authority are made. i.e Ms. Pelosi. Members of the black "couscous" don't agree on any substance issues...if they did Congress member Ms. McKinney would have had her senior seet...but those member couscous you speak of is nothing but troll.
