bellsouth denies handing over records
Edited on Tue May-16-06 07:03 AM by themartyred

The clincher which made me laugh was their representative saying, "Battcher said BellSouth’s customer service department had received little more than two dozen complaints about reports that private phone records may have been relayed to the government.

“We have 20 million land line customers, so 26 complaints is not a lot,” Battcher said."

BARF! what bullshit. #1 , people like my mom wouldn't dare say anything because they'd be afraid they'd report them to the NSA, and #2, like the regular CSR's write down all the BITCHING people did say, on their screens??? yeah, like they want to type that... 26 complaints? yeah, direct complaints to the upper mgmt! they haven't got the letters yet, and ignore the hundreds if not thousands upon thousands of off the cuff remarks to their CSR's..

1. Liar, liar... switchboard on fire...
I'd be very surpised if they hadn't actually caved in to the government's pressure. Pleasantly surprised, but surprised nonetheless.
