"See? We told you government is corrupt and incompetent! These are the best people in the world and look how badly they did. Just abolish the whole government and let our Benevolent Corporate Masters rule us instead"

13. Hi, omega minimo
Just remember, in the modern world of corporate media, there are no longer "real world events that have to be described accurately," or "common knowledge" or the "public good," or other quaint, old timey things like that (read the great, current thread "Is the US locked in to postmodernism?"). No, we are so much better and more sophisticated than that now. Nowadays, there are only advertising campaigns: people are not human beings with biographies; no, now they are just registered brand names, and images suggesting certain things. You don't buy a product, where it is a car or George Bush, because you were actually considering either one, but because you yourself will be thought of a new way, for having chosen (and being seen choosing) this one or that. So Karl says, "Hah, hah, hah, you do not understand the way these things work; we are the stockholding capitalists; it is our Government." ("The reports"; not just Rove spinning:)"It was a motley collection of '60s and '70s era protesters, waving placards and shouting, I don't know what..." "What do these people want, we all laughed..." "You will not be satisfied until every Republican is in prison. Well what about Bill Clinton, we all laughed..." Are they gone yet? You people try to stop us again, and you will get worse, much worse; when laughing at you longer works, watch out...

There used to be an old slogan that libraries used when I was a kid: "Know What You're Talking About--Read." We need that again. Fuck the spin and stand up to these criminals and attack; this is our country.

19. It helps to keep people ignorant of how the system (supposedly) works
Easier to turn "America" into a brand name:

"Nowadays, there are only advertising campaigns: people are not human beings with biographies; no, now they are just registered brand names, and images suggesting certain things. You don't buy a product, where it is a car or George Bush, because you were actually considering either one, but because you yourself will be thought of a new way, for having chosen (and being seen choosing) this one or that."

"There used to be an old slogan that libraries used when I was a kid: "Know What You're Talking About--Read." We need that again."

"These and other materialist one-worlders... intent on the suppression and pacification of the populace of the world, completely remade the face of American education in the twentieth century. The agenda that they pursued has culminated in the all-too-familiar situation of American education today in which the majority of persons graduated from high school are functionally illiterate and ill-prepared for doing anything else than saying 'yes' to Big Brother and his telescreens." --Mass Control: Engineering Human Consciousness

14. Rove serves short time in prison, develops a prison ministry.
Upon release follows the Chuck Colson model and becomes pastor of a mega-church, probably in San Antonio, and serves the party as Ralph Reed does, linking fundy nutcases with fat wallets to Republican commiteefolk coast-to-coast.

Bush leaves office one way or the other and returns to the life of a dedicated alcoholic, similar to the booze-ridden post-presidency of Franklin Pierce.

18. It will be Clinton's fault.
A horrible witchhunt put on by Dems.
He has done nothing wrong, it will all be cleared up soon.
Why do Dems hate Amurka?
Troop morale will go down because of this indictment.
Terra.
Fear.
Terra.
It's a vast gay Mexican conspiracy.
Dems indict poor, innocent people -- don't vote for them.

22. He can't spin this. He will be radio-active.
Duke Cunningham couldn't spin away his corruption charges. Tom Delay could only avoid the Grim Reaper of corruption for a while. He ultimately could not spin it away.

And KKKarl can't spin his way out of an indictment for lying to a Grand Jury and a Federal Prosecutor. He is toast.

Can you imagine a Rethug running for public office with advice from KKKarl right now? Wouldn't you love to be the one running against such a Rethug? The ads would almost write themselves.
