Over the last decades, the Executive Branch has grown vastly in power.
It has also been said by some that America is becoming more Plutocratic.
Is it possible that these two are correlated?
Many people have tried to map out the life and death of states. How a state begins and how it dies. My look at it is quite simple. Nations fluctuate between being an Oligarchy and a Democracy, sometimes getting stuck at Oligarchy status, this is what we have seen throughout history.
We, unfortunately, have turned the corner on Democracy street and now we're heading straight for Oligarchy road, a dead end for America's Constitutional Republic.
If we don't do something, America WILL become an Oligarchy, and it will happen soon.
Now, this Oligarchy will be a Dictatorship.
How will it happen? Here are some clues as to how it WON'T happen.
The State of Washington won't begin to annex land.
The Ohio Republican Party won't declare itself to be the ruling party of the entire nation.
The ACLU won't seize DC.
Dictatorships usually follow the path of least resistance. They happen in a position where there is already power. Hitler, Pinochet, Rios Montt, etc. have all done this.
If a Dictatorship comes to America, it will stab this nation through the White House.
Here is what we must do if we are to stop America from going down the road to Oligarchy.
1. Everything the Executive Branch does must be approved. The President shouldn't even be able to go to the bathroom without approval from both the House and the Senate.
2. The Executive Branch must become a Non-Partisan branch of Government.
3. Groups that lobby to the Executive Branch and meet with the Executive Branch have to be accompanied with another group that presents the opposite viewpoint. In other words, no more consulting with the Federalist Society or Jerry Falwell WITHOUT also consulting with someone else.
