In honor of Moms out there, Happy Mother's Day, 1968 version.
I bought this album new, loved it then, love it now (still have it. Called, "vinyl"). John Lennon loved it, too. But forget that; for now, it's Mother's Day, and whether your children are young, old, or pets, thanks, Mom. Whether you are single, married, divorced, male, female, grandma, aunt, whatever - great time to remember that not everybody is brought up in Phyllis Schlafly's America (I wasn't). As Lennon righteously sang, All You Need Is Love. And for those of us who have lost all our dearly missed moms, moms in law, aunts, godmothers, etc., Happy Mother's Day to them, too. A few lyrics follow. And no joke, Happy Mother's Day. Insist on being well taken care of Sunday, Moms. You deserve it.

Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day
I yam your son, I am a runaway,
Livin' on the east side, always gettin' stoned,
Always gettin' high, I'm glad I'm not home. . .

(OK, it's not Al Jolson, but my Mom, who didn't even get the Beatles, thought it was funny and cool. And she was the best. Happy Mother's Day.)

1. many thanks from this Mom. It took many $$$ and IVFs for me to be one!
I love my miracle boys so very much. I also realised when I had them, just how much and why, my Mother loved me.

Peace, Love and No More Wars!

3. Bless you. And thank you. Best be a good one Sunday.
You better have an exceptional morning of a stunning breakfast, Vivaldi and all the newspapers you want to wade through and then throw on the floor haphazardly for someone else to pick up. Or call me. I am the Mother's Day Enforcer.

4. LOL! you are too funny!
I just put in my order for a Mimosa with brunch at home after Mass. I have not had a Mimosa in ages! It just seems right.

5. I hope you have a great Sunday, Mom or not.
Always a pleasure conversing. Just got into it today; it seemed right, after putting extra hours in at the office. Will be checking out soon and watch some tube, then bed. I am not always this exciting. (Actually, that sounds pathetic. Nope. Very active in the community, and my profession. Lots of friends. But, tonight, lost my Mom in 2003, and my ex mother in law, who I stayed close to and we loved each other, last Wednesday. Whatever. I post an unexpected picture not for humor, but for their gentle souls, and essential humanity. And that's Barney.)

6. Thanks... and I am.
Lost my Mom in '84, but it is amazing how in times of stress my mind goes to her.
I often think of that Barbra Streisand song, "Mama, Cradle Me'. It is amazing how a mother's arms can always comfort. Sometimes even the memory can do the job.

Thanks again.

7. hopefully you'll thank me for making the ultimate (next to ultimate)
sacrafice. Today I put my son and only child on a plane to DC. He's going there to work on the Senate Majority Project which is funded by Soros to take back the Senate this year. He plans to stay there and go to graduate school next year. He lived at home during college so this is the first time he's been away for longer than a few weeks. He's a great kid (okay, 23 years old, but you know us moms) and perfect (another mom thing) and it was sad to see him leave.

Anyway, if it works and we take back the Senate and either impeach the bastard or at least investigate him...it will have been worth "losing" baby cakes the day before mother's day. (snif)
