I got some money cuz I just got paid. Actually, what I am saying, is put a pot of coffee on early; Sunday talk shows, newspapers, conversation. A great day ahead. Make an exceptional breakfast. Happy Mother's Day.

15. I'm waiting for confirmation.
Seems a little odd that no one else has picked up on the story at this hour.

9. Absolutely! Tweety had the scoop on Thursday just the
timing of the announcement is unknown. Remember on Thursday he was dedicating his whole Friday show to Fitz & Rove....

But I suspect they are probably close to spot-on. I am waiting for verification from other sources before I begin CELEBRATING!

12. "Time is on our side, yes it is"
One thing is for sure, if it does turn out that he was indicted, we will know for sure, not that we have any doubts, the MSM, the corporate media, answers to TPTB, not the people.

MSM was scooped again.

And yet the news got out. MSM is irrelevant.

13. I don't know if he has been or not. Sure, I read the articles but for me
it's not a matter of faith or trust but fact.

I presently personally don't have anyway of knowing if Leopold's various sources are "concrete," dead on, mistaken, passing on rumor, engaging in disinfo or some combination of the above. No offense to Leopold, Will or truthout. They may know they have the goods, but I have no way to confirm that myself until events prove them right or wrong. I would hope truthout's vetting process is better and more stringent than the WaPo and NYT, two big media outlets that on occasion have dropped some big old turds on the American public. I think truthout is well aware how far they're stepping out on this coverage and putting their credibility on the line. So I can but hope the editors have CYA'd themselves and their stories up and down, even contacting the sources themselves for confirmation and cross confirmation.

For media reports like these whether in WaPo or truthout I wonder who's talking and why? Likely different folks for different reasons. We won't have those answers now but I hope that eventually we might have more of an idea.

I did, however, think it was interesting that Tweety was all set for a Friday announcement and set to go with a Rovathon that had to be scuttled. Is it possible that he was just taken in by the fact that the grand jury is normally scheduled to meet on Wednesdays and Fridays and he was reading Shuster's old tea leaves and jumping the gun? It's possible and yet I'd be surprised if it were so. I figure Tweets is a big time gossip, reminds me of the kid in school who snoops around in everyone's business and then gleefully glows in the knowledge he scoops up on others and can't wait to share. (Like his breathless call to Joe Wilson, "I just got off the phone with Karl Rove and he said Joe Wilson's wife is fair game.")

Maybe Tweety was just misreading the tea leaves and was incautiously prematurely exuberant or maybe he had some info that seriously led him to believe something was really happening Friday that didn't turn out the way he anticipated, with a public announcement.

Anyway, I think I don't know whether there's a sealed indictment and Rover's really been given 24 hours to pick out his best suit for a jailhouse photo but I imagine we'll find out in due course, one way or another.

Edited on Sat May-13-06 09:26 PM by pitohui
indictments are matters of public record, come on

the puppetteer of the so-called free world being indicted would be above the fold news, not "truthout" news but 6 o'clock news type news

18. I need confirmation, but I'm sort of celebrating prematurely.
I gave a heads-up to folks today. I usually don't do that unless I'm reasonably sure the story is accurate. I did put a "FWIW" before the link when I shared it, so maybe that shows some caution.

I went out on a limb and told my Republican / fundy mother with the caveat that "if this alternative news source is wrong, they are dead to me." That's true. Truthout will be dead to me if they got something this big wrong. I'm sure they know a lot of people would react in such a way, so hopefully they've done their homework. The shrubbies would also know a lot of people would react this way and may have decided to "Rather" the Internet blogosphere. It's pretty easy to fool people with official-looking documents if you are the officials.

Some DUers are saying, "If it's true, why would the story be leaked to a two-bit Internet site?" I can think of two answers: 1) the so-called "mainstream" media has been gelded and Internet sites are scooping them, or 2) (as I mentioned above) the * admin has begun to see the Internet as a threat and is "Rathering" Truthout.

Can you think of other scenarios?

21. It is, of course, possible that Leopold's sources are both unique to him
and know that Rove has been indicted.

The only other possibilityies are that someone doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about or they're playing some kind of game. We won't know until we get a confirmation or a debunking.
