My simple letter to Nancy Pelosi...
Here is my letter to Ms. Pelosi in support of impeachment proceedings.

Please add your email as well to her.

sf.nancy@mail.house.gov

Dear Rep. Pelosi;

The time has now come for impeachment to begin. Although I feel strongly that we as Democrats will take both House and Senate in the upcoming elections, it is of the utmost necessity that you bring hope of this Democratic process back to this country's populace now. The cynicism that is being sown from the inaction of you and our fellow Democrats is detrimental to this optimistic promise of a Democratically representative government. Your lack of fortitude will gain only despair and distrust for our party and the whole system of governance. I implore you to champion this cause of impeachment now. It is a long process and its opening salvos can begin before the election process begins. Impeachment is not a strategy for political winning it is a promise to the oath that you have sworn and a statement of preservation for this thing we have come to love...Democracy.

With great respect and hope,

1. You were much kinder than I was...
Here's mine...

You DO NOT speak for me, Nancy. American people believe in accountability. Actions (or lack thereof) have consequences. No one is above the law. This president has committed at least a half dozen IMPEACHABLE offenses. How dare you publicly denounce impeachment when our country is founded upon the RULE OF LAW? What gives you that right?

Please remember that you are an ELECTED official. You speak for your constituents and I assure you that we are prepared to do whatever it takes to see that justice is served. The People are restless and they've had enough.

You can't have it both ways. You are either willing to uphold the rule of law or you are not. Which is it?

Do what it right, Nancy. Do your job. Californians will hold you accountable. Count on it.

Sincerely,

****************************************
Well, at least I got that off my chest... :banghead:

3. Pelosi has handed the 'Licans a subliminal talking point:
That dems are gutless opportunists.

Any independent or unaffiliated progressive watching Pelosi's weasly ways over the last few days -- not to mention her almost Dubya-like inarticulateness -- will conclude that Dems believe in nothing except winning. And that they're not really winners at heart.

I certainly hope that Dems will take the house and/or senate this fall. But whatever we do, we need to get rid of Pelosi, who is a coward and a fool.

4. Here's mine:
Dear Rep. Pelosi -

As a life-long Democrat who has voted in every election since 1972, I implore you to put the impeachment of the major players in the Bush administration on the table.

We have been lied to. People have died. Not just a few, but tens of thousands. Our nation is at war with itself and is teetering on the brink of implosion. We are the laughing stock of the world - an ineffective bull-in-the-china-shop superpower with absolutely no credibility or moral standing. And all because this president and his enablers believe that they are above the law...and because Congress - and you - refuse to perform the oversight functions that were entrusted to you in the Constitution.

Impeaching President Clinton was wrong. Not impeaching President Bush is wrong. Two wrongs never make a right. You owe the American people and your constituency in California the duties and privileges that you were elected to. I ask you to perform your duty, for sake of our nation and our democracy.
