Could we get a Survivalist Group?

I know that it sounds Freeper-ish, however, I believe that given the current state of affairs, it wouldn't hurt to have a DU Group dedicated to the exchange of ideas in survival technique.

Please express interest in whether or not you'd be interested or contribute, it's nice for the moderators to see expressed interest before creating a new DU Group.

Sounds like a good idea given all the uncertainty. I'm more afraid of what the powers that be have in store for us, than any kind of disaster befalling us, so it doesn't hurt to be ready. It would be great to have lots of input and the exchange of ideas.

5. I've always been interested in the issue because of ..............

.....the weather in areas I've lived in my life. I have reverted back to those skills a number of times during natural and man made emergencies/disasters and know full well I'll need the skills again one of these days too. So whether I use the lessons learned for a political or man made disaster or a natural one, the information needed won't change much.

Anyone who thinks a "survivalist" is only for far right wingers is missing the whole point. So count me in.
