Suggestion to all activist.
Because of the recent revelations about the intrustive bush junta, you must operate under the assumption that you are being monitored. Do simple things like keep backups off site, be careful when communicating over unsecured lines (phones and internet). Just be cautious.

If any of you know security proceedures you want to share, pass them on.

Politics is not nice. Secure your data and communications.

1. Use dis-information
Edited on Sat May-13-06 04:03 PM by FreeState
Use dis-information. I have not seen this mentioned here but if every democrat picked up their phones and called 1-5 random phone numbers a day and tried to hold a one minute conversation working in certain words (terror, bomb, Jesus, Saved etc) the Bush Crime Family's plan would be useless.

The same could be said for posting online etc. Post in places you normally would not. Say things you normally would not say.

And most importantly talk to people in person about personal information - assume some one is always listening.

2. Running a political campaign is like war. You don't want your
rival to know your troop strength, your tactics, your chain of command, and inventory. Disinformation is something for the strategist, but security is everybody's business. It's simple things like shredding paperwork, keeping the office secure, and keeping the circle of knowledge small.
