Code Pink vigil at the White House today...

I've lost contact with my friend that is there. Anybody got any news? Or pics?


I so wish I was there today with them. I've been trying to blog the vigil but I've lost contact now, damn cell batteries. Anybody else got a contact there?

1. Here's a diary...

of someone who is in contact with people there. (I know, a little convoluted but it's the best I can do now.)

Just heard from Karen & she is in a Sea of Pink - pink banners, pink flags, pink balloons - many pink signs. There are women from all over the US - signs from Wisconsin, California - many more.

I was able to hear chants of "STOP THE WAR!!"

Karen was unable to make a crowd estimate but CNN has helicopters overhead & they should be able to give some estimation. Later they will proceed to Washington Monument - did she say to the top? Can you go to the top? If it's possible, Karen will!

She promises a thread header with photos as soon as she gets a chance. They'll have Cindy Sheehan speaking, Susan Sarandon, big lineup.

Now they are being lined up inside a big square of coffins. It's very media heavy with cameras everywhere. I can feel the excitement.
