Poll: Bin Laden 'probably back home in US'
If you ask people where they think Osama Bin Laden was hiding, the answer would inevitably be Afghanistan or Pakistan.

But for some reason, a large number of readers surveyed online believe he is hiding in the United States.

In the Gulf News online survey done on May 7, 30 per cent of the responders said Pakistan was the terrorist's likely hiding place. Only 12 per cent said Afghanistan, while 51 per cent said it was the United States.

To double check whether people on the streets are equally paranoid and think on the same lines, Gulf News caught some unwary shoppers and asked them the question. While some people said they would rather not comment on the subject, a large number also believe he is in the United States, as according to them, Bin Laden was once "created" by America.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

There was a poll awhile back by Gulf News showing that most Arabs think Zarqawi is a Jewish or American agent as well.

3. The US is a good choice to hide in
Look how ineffective our intel and immigrant services are. How could one find an easier place to hide ? Just hide amongst the millions/

4. There is no way Bin Laden is in the U.S....
...I bet you he's way the hell away from here, and he's probably hiding in some Rogue country like Syria or on the outskirts of some country like Jordan.

17. That was a hoot, he was at the ranch, too--and that's where he COULD hide
In the guest house, just over the hill. The flowers are lovely this time of year, the climate is agreeable to him, and if he's bored, well, he can get out the chainsaw and cut some brush, or maybe go fishin' fer some perch in the manmade pond!!!!!!!!

No horsies, though...Porgie don't like them horsies!!!

11. It would be
Bush's worst nightmare if Bin Laden was caught. What would he use for his terror stage act?

He's probably in a hidden room behind the White House library being catered with lobster and Dom Perignon.

Please tell me you're being sarcastic.

If not... I suppose you have "sources" for this accusation? Give me a few minutes though... I think I might need my thigh high waders on for this. ;)

Edited on Sat May-13-06 03:52 PM by dubeskin
but how much of a shocker would that be if he was? Bush's numbers would drop to 1%, the NSA wiretaps would have been pointless, the war; pointless, and everything the Bush regime has done since. A big smack in the face to all Republicans.

21. So much for propaganda. Only Americans seem to believe it.
The rest of the world seems a little more critical.

25. I think fewer and fewer Americans believe it too--people are just afraid
to say it to each other.

Once people realize that most think it's bullshit, it will collapse.

It would be nice if some of our elected leaders could push the first domino, but that's probably too much to ask (because they won't do it).
