I have a problem with the current administration.
It is very simple. It seems that the Bush administration has brought about many laws that benefit them. The spying, the Patriot act, the tendency to pass laws and say they do not apply to me. What happens when a new administration comes in, perhaps a Democrat congress or even a Democrat president? Aren't they worried about the tables being turned and the laws being applied to them? They are acting like perhaps they will not have to leave office at all. That is what is bothering me. Can they sign a paper that will say the term limits do not apply to Mr. Bush?

3. Its called The Republican Majority
Delay/Gingrich's plan to make this a one-party country.

I don't see them giving up some of their power in November.

10. Lots of those changes were to make sure they never WOULD leave.
The concept of some democrat ever getting into power again doesn't register with most true believers, who think the fix is in, through god, history, or thinking that they really are doing what the country needs.

5. He will not pass the torch on 1/20/09.
between now and then another issue of "National Security" will surfacer and with The (un)Patriot(ic) Act he will stay at the helm to carry out the bidding of his PNAC handlers. There is still too much money to be made and a lot of power to control. Thats the PNAC agenda.

I sound paranoid but have this gut feeling that bu$h and then probably Jebbie, will be the CIC('s)for many years to come.
Unless we revolt!

7. They do not plan on turning over the power to the democrats, AND
the unused veto-pen will morph into a blazing hyper-speed pardon pen before junior slinks back to his armadillo hole.

Democrats unfortunatley have been afflicted with n.h.f.l.a.g.a.s.w. syndrome in the past, and could reasonably expected to have it flare up yet again...

what is n.h.f.l.a.g.a.s.w.?

No hard feelings, let's all get along, shall we ?

8. Brought about changes that benefit themselves....
EXACTLY....what if somehow, magically a street bum woke up in the White House tomorrow with all it's currently implied powers???First move a Presidential directive that pricing Night Train or MD 20-20 at over 25 cents per liter would be considered price gouging and punishable by death....About 10AM he declares that fast food dumpsters are to be declared "Free Enterprise Zones" and that the rights of the people within the zones "shall not be infringed"....At noon he declares that all single housing units "shall within 60 days be equipped with exterior ground level ventilation ducts and all ducts shall be heated AND cooled as appropriate...the rights of the people to these ducts shall not be abridged.....Think he would be charged with conflict of interest before the day ended???
Ridiculous????How different really are the actions of my bum and our government in light of what their interests are???It would make good satire only because it is SO damn true.....
