Boycott Verizon and AT$T or cancel contracts./ service with
the companies that have sold out to the government. If people
did this it would be the best way to get them - right in the
pocket book. I wish more would do this. I really think this is
the best way to show the companies what we think.

1. I tend to agree with this thought. Time to hurt Corporate Amerika
Where it would hurt them the most, in the pocket book.
Does anyone know who owns All Tell, our contract is up at the end of the year and I don't want to give money to those who don't have the BALLS to stand up to W.

3. I need DSL for business and there is noother provider here.
Except Comcast and they are just as bad but charge more.

I don't like being held hostage by them but I would have to move out of state and to an area that Qwest provides service in order to be able to continue to run my internet based business.

$12.95 for 6mnths then $34.95-$44.95/month for 3.0Mbps service

Verizon helped pay for Delay's legal fees, you an google it.

personally I would pay for something that doesn't consider ethics obsolete.

17. There are only four providers
All others are just brokers for the four big bells. There is some hope in the state regulators that could provide a break in the dam. see this

I hope they are ok...

as for a phone, I think I'll just get a cell with Working Asters, I'm not sure about their reception though, I live on a lake.

Who cares if a Hubbard Dullard owns them. They don't sell our civil liberties to Bushco.

18. I've had Earthlink for years. I know they fought releasing their user

information to the Government in court after "9/11."I have their Dial Up and DSL connections. I think they still use Sprint for dial up connections but that might have changed in the last couple of years. I don't have any complaint except they are expensive. I use AT&T and Verizon for phone and Cell and Bell South for another line, though :-(

The only thing that's of concern with Earthlink is that their "tech support" comes from India now. They were forced to do it to keep the company in business by cutting costs. Bushies just threw them another zinger with not allowing them to offer phone service without huge fees. But then, I've had Bell South soliciting me with folks who could barely speak English that I new were Indian.

20. That is what stinks I think, It's too bad that one has to have a
contract with these companies that lasts 2 yrs and when you do want to cancel you must pay a penalty that is quite expensive. That stinks. When I cancelled with Verizon I had to pay 170.00

10. I just spent $180 three months
ago on the phone, a US Cellular, an AT&T company. Luckily I'm on a pay as you go plan or I'd have a long contract (though I've got a legal opinion kicking around that if I did have a contract it has been breached by vertue of wording about Illegal activities in this case thiers). I want my $180 back cause I can't use it on any other services. Seems the telephone companies are playing monopoly with this proprietary tactic. My read is that most people are sick and tired of playing monopoly for the past 20+ years and are ready to engage in a little chess for awhile.

I'm going to attempt to go through small claims court for a refund. I'm going to give them a chance first to just give me my $180 back but I'm not going to wait very long. We've got judges out here that will look at my case carefully on a constitutional issue. I'm kind of hoping they'll duke it out. It'll get some good press and start a flood of refunders to small claims court should they wiggle thier little finger. Go ahead.... make my day.

They give a percentage to progressive causes - and you get a pint of Ben and Jerry's every month with the bill! Great company- I have used them for years and they have wireless service now too.

15. Wish I could but Massachusetts has only Verizon and I don't
want to give Comcast any more money for their Cable & Internet service ($87.56 month w/Senior discount of a whopping $3.00) by buying Internet phone service. Massachusetts does not allow any ground competition. Verizon owns the lines. Monopoly! Good for those of you who can switch to Qwest. I would switch in a heartbeat. What is the scoop on cell phones. Better half has T-Mobile. Did they sell out too? We use PowerNetGlobal for long distance. Great rates & service. Please tell me they are OK. Next thing you know, we will have microphones embedded in our walls. Anyone checking their light fixtures?
