So LET Republicans tell voters we are going to impeach...
Actually I think that would be another reason that would get voters out in OUR favor. So what if the 29% who still stick with the idiot go out to vote.

Look Republicans, especially regular conservatives are sick of this guy's shit too. At this point I would think most of them are ready to junk this Presidency and try anything else... especially with how much damage this guy has already done.

Impeachment would act as a tourniquet to America's wounds. I am pretty sure them riding into town like Paul Revere but yelling, "Impeachment is coming" will hardly move a voter that wouldn't have voted anyway since pretty much everyone is fed up with his shit.

Let them cry about us possibly impeaching him... We should NOT take it off the table. I have a feeling more voters will vote FOR us if it is on the table anyway.

6. NO! Can't do that - we might upset some of these!
According to Nancy Pelosi and too many ignorant DU'rs! (long time trolls?)

The backwash might not support us!

2. The Republicans should be doing the impeachment.
They set the standard of illegal activity and lying as impeachable under any circumstances. They are the ones Russert should be asking about imeachment. That should the the Democratic response.

3. Actually I think the Dems are being smart for once.
Everytime a Puke mentions impeachment he or she is admitting that W deserves it. Meanwhile the Dems can keep talking about issues like raising the minimum wage, things that can make things better for people right away. Hey, look who cares about politics, and who cares about people.....

4. I just returned from a trip visiting republican family members
They ALL said they don't consider themselves republican. They said they'd vote independent or as long as it's not Clinton they'd strongly consider a good democrat. Interesting as I don't see that they have any republican values anyway. The republicans have screwed themselves and I can't tell you how happy I am to see what their selfish, horrible policies have done to them..

5. I think so too. I've never understood this "impeachment threat"
meme. Most people (including many Republicans) are fed up with Dubya and would love to see him impeached at this point. Or as my mother used to say, "Is that a threat or a promise?"

7. At this point I don't support Impeachment
and let me tell you why. The only way republicans can regain the moral high ground is for them to reject the corruption among them. I prefere to let them remain saddled with the rotting carcass of a failed presidency. Every day Bush remains among them the worse he smells. I hope they hang on to him until he brings them all down. Can you say DEATH SPIRAL?

10. Wait, so you want Republicans to regain the moral high ground?
Who ever said they had it in the first place. Republicans are good at being judgmental bigots and claiming that's moral.

We're the ones who have always stood on the moral high ground and I don't think we should A) cede that to them or B) wait for them to figure out what morons they have been. They have been in denial long enough for my tastes.

13. We are trying very hard to rebuild our homes and city, but the levees
aren't fixed yet and hurricane season starts in 2 weeks. I still need a new roof on my house and the foundation fixed, and LOTS of interior work done! I've had to fire 2 contractors so far for NOT SHOWING UP to do the work they promised to do! This is everyone's story here (except for the wealthy). We are doing our part but the government has failed us, and is poised to fail us again.

We do not have the time to wait for an electoral regime change in DC.

We need Bushler and ALL of his cronies impeached and put in prison for life - THIS YEAR!

Our lives depend on it!

16. And I know of many people that believe NO's is of no importance.
I hate to feel this way but I hope they get a taste this hurricane season, thier obvious lack of compassion for what Katrina did to so many on the Gulf coast of LA and Miss should be repaid twofold. I hate to feel that way but I am sick of those who act as if thier loss up there is of no real importance to themselves..

I never realized how many selfish American citizens we are inundated with in this country, to them, its all about me.

9. Actually, it makes sense for the Repukes to lead the impeachment
and removal of Bush/Cheney...then, they have President Hastert. If they wait until after 2006, we have President Pelosi (even though she apparently doesn't want the job).

12. Limiting consideration to merely impeachment is like ...
... discussing whether to use a single Band-Aid to treat multiple gunshot wounds on the battlefield.

Unless and until these war criminals are imprisoned for 20-to-life, we've not even begun to achieve a "just society." It's beyond my comprehension that the scope and extent of corruption is so far beyond anything remotely proportional in our public awareness. I see no foreseeable future (that I'll ever see) where our nation returns to the long path towards justice and liberty we once seemed to be on 30 years ago. We're an outlaw nation.

14. That's all the pugs will be screaming...Impeacment, Dem's have no ideas.
Edited on Sat May-13-06 02:55 PM by LaPera
And real issues and the democratic position will be lost & buried...(exactly what the republicans are hoping for and looking to find)

Because EVERY republican and EVERY talk show and all media, across this country will NEVER stop talking about anything else, how the democrats don't have any answers, their only answer is to impeach the president...(we seen it happen many times before republicans jumping on something never letting go and that's all that's heard 24/7 on MSM).

The Christian right and moderates will come out of the woodwork to vote to save and support their president.

Pelosi gets it, Its a sound, slick, intelligent republican move, lie about it and don't give your opponents ammunition to use against you...(such as having the republicans on every talk show screaming... SEE, the democrats have no plan they just want to impeach the president).

Politics is about short cycles... they can scream it but the American public halts caring about it after 2 days or so.

17. But its NOT the official democratic position or platform...The election
Edited on Sat May-13-06 03:14 PM by LaPera
has to be about Bush's policies, agenda, lies, ideology and where he's taking this country...

Making Impeachment as part of the democratic platform would be a huge devastating mistake...That would be what all the talking-heads and media would want to discuss...it's easy pickings for the right-wing media...Republicans were hoping the Dem's would make impeacment their rallying cry...then they were going to attack and that's all that would be heard...

Everyone can see what a liar and fuck-up Bush is...Now the Dem's need to talk about his lies & fuck ups and the real issues, and NOT let the republicans dictate what should be the issues to discuss, such as non-issues, (gay marriage, gun control, abortion, OR IMPEACHMENT).

Real issues is what the dem's should be bringing to the table, not ammo for the republicans...Impeachment will take care of itself after the election, IF the democrats win back congress, a very tall order I might add.

Pelosi is right on the money on this one!
