11. Anyone can listen to cell phone calls or cordless calls.
It's called radio, and the NSA mastered that a long time ago -- unless I'm missing what Jack means.

In other words, they don't need to "trap" them to monitor them.

6. That's consistent with what they've said, unless I missed something?
There are two programs, connected

1. Listening to calls without the bother of a warrent - these are supposadly international calls with people on terrorist lists.

2. Collecting records of all calls. Information would include numbers called and routing and what not. ALso done without a warrent.

The problem isn't necessarily in what they say they are doing (although I'm not keen on the second one). The problem is that there is no oversight.

For example they find that someone on Pelosis staff calls a phone sex line, and some helpful "overzealous staffer" forwards it to the Washington Post. As far as we know there's nothing stopping that from happening (or other similarly compromising actions). And we don't really know that they are monitoring only foreign calls (other than that we have their word for it.

…and go buy a bunch of stock in the smaller company in time to profit from the soon-to-be-announced merger.

13. Do you all realize that the laws protect land lines, but not cell phones?
So the sons of bitches went after the land lines. Unbelieveable.
