What Happens if the Republicans Come Out Ahead of Dems for Impeachment
Picture the following events:

It's July/August and Bush is sitting even lower in the polls Repugs in the House and Senate are hearing complaints every day out on the trail.

Or, there are even worse events/indictments/scandals/disasters for BUSHco.

What do the Repugs do?

Could most bail and make political hay by impeaching the bastard?

Pelosi and other Dems need to weigh their options carefully!

PS: It's not enough to impeach Bush, Cheney must go as well! Who knows, maybe Pelosi could become the first woman President...

2. Winning is everything
I think they'd abandon him in a second. Whatever the outcome, all hell is coming to America.

3. I think such is possible.
Bush is now less popular than Nixon was. Republicans are all cut from the same pre-programed cloth. But, when survival instincts are in the fore-front, all bets are off. I think they would want him to resign.Cleaner that way. I think they'd like to seal the next election by getting McCain in office. All he has to do is pray before the altar of Fallwell..

6. I'm not too sure I agree
To impeach would mean they would have to explain why they went along with asshat for so long. Hard to reconcile that. Dems would have a field day.

This would be a politically very smart move by Repugs. They'd restore much needed credibility with the people and make Dems look absolutely spineless, but I doubt they'll do it.

I think Fitzgerald will be looking after Cheney.
