Get some perspective before trying to grasp the US/Russia reality

Because I'm lazy and not quite sober I can't post a link to my admonishment (my dictionary described admonishment as a gentle warning)) so don't flame me.


Don't you think the Russians government can use their newspapers to deform reality as much as the US government? In fact I think they mastered the propaganda game way before any American country. (North and South)

Coming back to the article published by the Pravda today, I read an interesting analyze about the harsh words Poutin used in his annual speech to the Nation. (I guess you can compare it to the January speech from your president.)

A little more than a thousand persons came to listen to Poutine's annual speech : Parliament leaders, governors and religious leaders.


Poutin 's intention in badmouthing the US are quite clear for the Russians and international observers. Their conclusion (about bush being a wolfe, etc.)is that Poutin is using those words to please and unite his voters. He wants to convince them that he cares about the Russian's statute.

See, many Russians citizens are expressing their attachment to the idea of a (still) Powerful Country. Many feel bitter toward the dismantlement of USSR instigated by Gorbatchev and Poutin was tapping on these deep feelings

His public characterization of the buscos was primarily targeting his own People. Nothing to do with a new Cold War.

Andreï Piontkovski ( Center of strategic studies) wrote that Poutine speech is not a threat for the US. It's main target was the Russian People.

Because he is the most pro-american president Russia ever had, he must come forward and criticized the US in order to increase his popularity.

This has no influence on his foreign policies which always answered the American interests.

So, don't worry. A new cold war is an illusion fabricated by Poutine with the benediction of the bushco,s.
