Common sense says its not limited to Phone records
Edited on Sat May-13-06 02:29 AM by Freedom_Aflaim
How much you wanna bet they are capturing credit card records, hotel stays, utilities bills, airline reservations etc etc.

When thieves get caught stealing a TV, its rarely their first time, and they rarely ONLY steal Tvz....although they will tell the judge it was their first time and they just need a TV.

We only know about phone records. 100 to 1 theres a whole lot more they are capturing.

1. Banking industry was the first to cooperate.
They know exactly whom to solicit for contributions, don't they.

I wonder what the freepers would say when their bank statements are being handed over to the NSA's

2. Doesn't the information travel over a telephone line
when you use your credit card? That would put it in the same sweep.

3. Medical records is a big worry.
The law says Medical records are supposed to be private. Yet, have not FTC rules allowed freer use of electronic methods to share medical records among insurance companies. The worry is this information might be shared among employers. Even reports one's genetics can be posted among insurance companies and employers.
And to think we think we are secure in our papers.

4. There used to be this thing on windows 98 that kept sending out
information over the net that was part of the MSN messenger and I was curious, and I found some guys online who decompiled it. Inside the code, they found comments saying it was owned by Sandia.gov, and the info was being sent to a contractor with them whose name I can't recall. Now all this was back in like 2000. Of course, the methods for suveilling computers now are presumably more discreet, but its WAY bigger..as the whistleblower said, this is the tip of the iceberg.

5. We know
they are capturing information about whom you send mail to outside the country. Have to fill out customs forms to mail a birthday card to Canada these days....
