Social Network Analysis, This is behind the NSA "TIA" data-mining
That is why they want to record your phone records, your ATM records, your credit card purchases, voter registration, donations, petition signings, web travels, and every other bit of information Corporate Amerika gets from you. It makes Nixon's "enemies list" look as harmless as the scribbles of a three-year-old.

This is a very old idea in social science, but the unprecedented power of the NSA computer systems make it possible to analyze every recordable action of every person in America and thus classify every individual according to their affiliations. And this possibility was why the NSA charter prohibited using its power against the people of this country - back in the old days, before the fascists took power. You can see how it works here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_networking . This is why the NSA phone record monitoring is such a threat to democracy. The choices are to continue the good fight, or to try to hide (hah! you are a fool if you think that will work). But, however you choose to react, this is the way things work in today's Amerika, and it is something we all need to know.

2. Thanks. Some people seem to have a very narrow view
of what is going on. They believe that if they aren't talking to "terrorists" (like Al Quaeda or PETA or Greenpeace or Howard Dean) they are not being targeted. The purpose of this program is to target and classify everyone who might oppose fascism/corporatism. Not just those who are most overt, but everyone who falls into that broad social network.

3. I agree. And all too many people don't realize the extent to which
their opinions are being manipulated deliberately by falsehoods. Thanks again. I've bookmarked your post. The better we can understand, the more prepared we can be in our rebuttals and opposition.

4. This is the real story here methinks.
This is a true representation of corporatism/fascism. With all of our personal data freely flowing to and from the .inc's and the * crime family there is nowhere to hide.

Here lies American Democracy:

6. No question in my mind that's part of what's going on here
I also believe that they've been targeting people and listening in on their substantive conversations.

These people believe that they're unaccountable- so you'd have to be pretty naive to think they wouldn't be using the NSA to their political (or economic) advantage....
