Gallup Poll Panel

I received a phone call the other night from the Gallup poll. They asked a lot of questions about the demographics of my family and my opinion of the Chimpster--standard right track, wrong track, etc. The pollster then asked my household to be part of the Gallup Poll Panel. I received a nice brochure in the mail--they want us to be part of an exclusion group of advisor's that will be heard at the highest level of government, yada, yada.

Does anybody know anything about this group--the return address is Omaha, Nebraska? Is this the actual Gallup or something else. I ask this because they wanted to know our household income before I was invited to be part of this exclusion group.

I was a Nielson household for a while years ago. THAT was mizzerable! You had to keep a diary of EVERY show you watched, how long you watched, and who in the household watched~

They gave you a nice gratuity, but I really did it because Nielson had so few households then, the every Nielson house had a real impact on the ratings...and I had a favorite show or two I wanted to see stay on the air.

I'd hate to do the Nielson thing again, but I think the Gallop thing is much, much easier.

2. We did Nielson too, for about 6 months... what a pain in the ass!

I hear it's easier now, the machine is hooked up to the cable box and records everything automatically. I hope thats not just a rumor. :)

3. I'm still trying to make up my mind

The brochure says they want to know about political opinions and retail behavior. I hope this isn't some consumer poll. They want everybody over 13 to precipitate. They want me to mail it to an address in Omaha, Nebraska.

8. Yeah, I am. I usually hate phones (and phone calls), but if my opinion

is counted, it might mean something. With elections the way they have been, it might mean more than my actual vote, which is a sad thing to say.

I just hope this isn't some consumer survey to see how many times a week we eat out.

I told the pollster that nobody in my household likes Bush, but she wanted us to precipitate anyway. Maybe it will make a difference.

I live in Washington state and the chimp is none too popular around here. Two ladies in my water aerobics class were arguing about impeachment. One wanted to impeach now--the other wanted to hamstring him with a democratic congress(naive attitude). Everybody in class had a sour look on their face at the mention of chimp's name--not one person suggested that he was the commander-in-chief who needed these powers.
