Get ready for that awful NSA push poll on Saturday's front pages
Watch newspapers from coast to coast jump all over that puppy and play it. Saturday's Indianapolis Star is already out:

"Poll: Americans OK with phone database," lower right of page 1

1. Crappy wording of this question - "part of a terrorist investigations"
is trying to GIVE IT an aire of legitamacy. How about if some agent considers the little old lady who marches in Anti-War marches, *a terrorist.*

Assholes! :grr:

Full (Y/N) Question = Is it acceptable for the National Security Agency to collect U.S. phone records as part of terrorism investigations?

2. Maybe Push Polls are beginning to backfire...
Edited on Fri May-12-06 11:32 PM by Dunvegan
...it says:

Cyber survey

Is it acceptable for the National Security Agency to collect U.S. phone records as part of terrorism investigations?
    Yes

    No.

Even that lousy question, with it's loaded wording, is at only 51% Yes and at 49% No.

Not working so well.

Soo...now, even when framing the question in this skewed way, people are so mad about this program, that they are actually saying it's not okay for NSA to collect phone records for a terrorism investigation.

Since they didn't qualify the question in the push poll, I guess it means almost half the people responding think the NSA shouldn't investigate terrorism via phone records under any condition.

They're sinking themselves in their own muck and mire.

About time...I was getting tired of this game.

4. The ABC/WashPost "poll" on NSA spying is a total scam - see this thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x1174702
thread title (5-12-06 GD): Bogus WaPo/ABC poll on Americans' "support" of NSA spying-FIGHT THIS SCAM!

Jane Hamsher and others spell it all out. And note in reply #23 that a poster at Firedoglake dug and found that the company doing this totally bogus, undocumented "poll" has "telecommunications service providers" as its primary clients. Conflict of interest, much?
