Their backs are against the wall and their world is crumbling. They have to do something dramatic.

I was thinking a terrorist attack here might be in order, but that would only prove all their secret monitoring of U.S. citizens is ineffective and they can't protect us.

They know they're going to lose in November, so I think they have to push up the timetable on the script their running on Iran, which they don't even seem to be re-inventing from Iraq.

So, given all we know now, what do you think public reaction will be to a new attack?

1. Sit home glued to the TV only leaving to buy Support The Troops stickers.
That would account for about 50% of the population. The other half, I would sincerely hope, would keep me company with good conversation as we picketed all federal government buildings within a 50-mile radius of where we live.

5. I'll be with you... get ready. When Israel bombs Iran, that will be the
start, then we'll go in to back them up. :(

2. Either "Shock" or "Awe" -- Nothing in between.
About 75% will be shocked.
About 25% will be awed.

6. Sadly, I think it will be a
collective yawn.

Until something happens to them personally. Like their kid is in a nuke zone in Iraq when Pakistan kicks in.

7. Since When Do They Care What The Public Thinks?
Once the bombs are falling on Iran, the media will tell us what to think,
they'll tell them what we are thinking,
and they'll tell us that most of us really did vote Republican, however unlikely that might seem on Election Day.

11. Not what "their" response will be...
Rather, what will "our" response be.

If this happens we will be truly be a fascist nation along the lines of Nazi Germany. A nuclear attack will kill millions of people in Iran and the poison could very well spread to neighboring nations.

If we do not regain control of the house and senate in the midterms, it will be obvious to most that we have been living in a dictatorship for the past 6 years. Not an unfair contest or a few shady acts of sleight of hand. A systematically rigged totalitarian system. With *'s 29% approval rating, how long can his coattails possibly be?

It's true, most people will not feel even a twinge of accountability for what their government is doing. If we nuke Iran and do nothing, we will basically prove our selves to be a nation of schtizophrenics at best and sociopaths at worse.
