What did Pelosi really say? "not in my watch" ???? WTF!
IMPEACMENT may be neccesary , more necessary than her IMHO, actually to restoring our democracy- etc.
I heard (on TV- but second hand comments) she said IMPEACHMENT would NOT happen under her watch- on TV. Is this an exageration? Nancy Pelosi does not have a right to say that- and if she did I hope she can be voted OUT, ASAP.
So next time a TV pundit grills you about impeachment, try some of these answers:

Well Tim, should a President be able to lie to Congress and the American people to start a war that takes the lives of 2,400 of our bravest sons and daughters?
Well Tim, should a President be able to wiretap thousands or millions of law-abiding American citizens without a warrant?
Well Tim, should a President be able to defy U.S. and international law by authorizing torture and even murder of prisoners?
Well Tim, should a President be able to lock away an American citizen without charges or access to a lawyer forever?
Well Tim, should a President be able to nullify 750 laws through signing statements?
Answers like these will accomplish a multiplicity of goals:

They will open the eyes of millions of Americans who are completely unaware of these crimes because they get all their news from TV, especially FOX
They will show Americans that you are smart as a whip - and tough as nails
They will make rightwingers' heads explode
They will make the pundit's head explode - and guarantee that no pundit will ask you about impeachment ever again

http://www.democrats.com/pelosi-how-to-discuss-impeachment this article gives advice but does not say she said "NOT in my watch" this seems even worse than Howard Dean's big mistake!
I hope these Dem leaders get their priorities in order! I love John Conyers!

2. get this.....
"Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) told her caucus members during their weekly closed meeting Wednesday "that impeachment is off the table; she is not interested in pursuing it," spokesman Brendan Daly said."

3. Give her the benefit of a doubt that she's playing "good cop, bad cop"
I say that because she has mentioned that investigations need to be done and that consequences relating to those investigations need to be rendered. That would include the possibility of impeachment. If she says it is not going to happen ever, then there is no need to do what is considered her constitutional responsibility...she should then resign.

10. Tell Nancy Pelosi Impeachment Is Good for Democrats
From Democrats.com THANKYOU!!!
Democratic House Leader Nancy Pelosi has instructed the Democratic Caucus and promised the corporate media that the Democrats will not impeach Bush and Cheney even if they win a majority in Congress. Of course, such timidity is the most likely way for the Democrats to not win a majority in Congress. While 90% of Democrats and 81% of Independents disapprove of Bush in the latest Harris poll, only 67% of Republicans approve of him. Every poll done on impeachment (http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/polling ) shows very strong support among Democrats and weak opposition among Republicans. Moreover, an off-year election is won by inspiring your "base" to turn out in higher numbers, and nothing inspires Democratic voters like impeachment.

Here's an article about Pelosi's position:

Here's where you can send her your own thoughts:

8. Sorry to prick the rant balloon, but...
I believe she said she won't push for imnpeachment, which is a whole different thing. And the smart thing to say.

If she becomes majority leader, she won't push for impeachment, but will allow Conyers or someone else to push it. And who says she'll still be the leader next year if we win anyway? She might be Speaker. Or she might step down or be thrown out. Speaker would be interesting, and we'll see how the self-hating, and Pelosi-hating, Dems take that.

It would be idiotic for Dean, Pelosi, or any other Democratic leader to come out for impeachment now and give ammo to Republicans running in November. Serious talk of impeachment can only start when we have the power to pull it off-- it's not a discussion board down there on the Hill where you can just spout off any silly bullshit without consequences.

9. that's what I was wondering -the pundits
on the MSM seem to be saying she was ruling it out- down playing for now- could be OK.
She has NO right to say she won't consider the FACTS!
but on the other hand the far-right is trying to make it sound like, if the dems win too many seats in congress, this big scary radical IMPEACHMENT thing is going to happen, and then we will be so distracted that OF COURSE the TERRORIST will WIN!
I am so tired of this Bu**SH**!

11. True- but it would also be idiotic
to say that it would NOT happen under her watch. Ruling impeachment out (or pretending to) is a loose/loose gambit IMHO. It demonstrates weakness, and ignorance. It also goes against what many of us are working toward- restoring democracy, accountability etc.
Not pushing it-is acceptable, although I don't really even agreee here. I think we should focus on the facts.
