One thing, I don't think the Bushbots will cause a major incident at home
now. Because it will mean that even with all the freedoms that Americans have so willingly given up to them, they still can't protect us. Any thing that happens inside the US now, after the NSA revelations, will make them all look really incompetent. At one time i thought the Bushbots would stage a minor incident to keep up the fear levels and pump up the Bush's poll numbers but I think that won't happen now.

2. How's this for framing:
They need to dig through your private life to "Secure the Homeland" but they won't secure our ports? Give me a break.

6. Or search for another needle in a haystack, Osama Bin Laden
in Afghanistan.

There must be an easier way to zero in on the terrorists than search through millions and millions of telephone records.

It reminds of the joke about the little boy who lost his quarter in the dark, and was looking for it under the street light, because there was more light there.

3. Cognitive dissonance
When a major domestic incident occurs, it will be a sign to the true believers that their faith was insufficient. MORE freedoms must be surrendered. MORE stupid, blind faith must be bestowed on the psycho-in-chief.

If your theory were true, we wouldn't be having this conversation because Bush would have been impeached on 9/12/01. Americans reward, not punish, incompetence.

Hope springs eternal. Maybe they'll prove me wrong. Someday.

4. And they will say that liberals and the media embolden our enemies
which caused us to be hit again.

And, besides, Bush is doing a good job, because we hadn't been hit since 9/11.

Apparently a major domestic attack every five years is acceptable.

5. Any kind of incident
would provide a temporary bump, but, then it cause people to look very hard at the why.
I don't think it would be very pretty afterwards when realization sets in that we were played big time.
