?Why was Bush still flogging the "international" and Al Qaida connection
in his ultra brief "hi I'm talking and saying something" appearance today. I thought it was weird and disconnected from the story being reported. Is he trying to distance himself personally from this particular story and act like he knew nothing about this specific program?

1. hon, 9/11 is all he's got
I refused to listen but if what you're saying is correct, then Mr 31% has nothing. Nothing.

2. No, the Freepers are repeating that statement also
"They are listening only to international calls for al qaida connections."

Bush was speaking to his bushbots.

3. Because that is all he has. His whole fucking presidency is wrapped
up in keeping citizens in fear and the bogeyman is AlQuieda.
BTW - how big is AlQuieda? I thought after 9/11 they only had @5,000 members. Sure a lot of fear for such a small org.

6. Because the last time he had to haul his carcass out in a hurry...
...and leap on television to answer eavesdropping charges, he swore up and down it was ONLY on overseas calls.

And the "backwash" in the media was, "Yes, because it would be illegal for the government covenant to spy domestically."

So, he's just "gargling the backwash," one more time.
