"Would you support Gov Jeb Bush for president?"

Poll question in my local (Central Florida) newspaper.

I'm rather surprised, knowing the track record from years past around here. The "No" votes lead two to one. This tells me the people have had enough and want a change.

3. That's awesome.
You know what would RULE? If Jeb got the nomination, the election was fair, and he couldn't even carry Florida. That's making me  just thinking about it.

10. I'm shocked
Lakeland? 65% No? Flabbergasted.

BTW - I'll be in Lakeland this week-end to see my mom for Mother's Day. No offense, but I hate that town. Spent ten miserable years there. I'm in South Florida now.

Did you also see this:

Ross Considering U.S. Senate Run

State Rep. Dennis Ross of Lakeland confirmed today that he is considering becoming a candidate for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate, a decision he will make after a scheduled telephone conversation with Gov. Jeb Bush later today.

If he does run, the race will pit him against U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris, R-Longboat Key, in the Sept. 5 Republican primary to determine who will face U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, the incumbent Democrat, in the general election Nov. 7.

It could be a Polk County race. Harris grew up in Polk County and graduated from Bartow High School. Ross, a Lakeland native, is a graduate of Lakeland High School.

Ross had planned to run for Florida Chief Financial Officer this year, but withdrew after learning he would have to divest all interest in his Lakeland law firm. In a federal office, he would only have to remove his name from the firm.

15. I saw it.

Like Harris, he must have money burning a hole in his pocket. Let him waste it. Then at least they can say they helped the economy.

24. JEB has no more respect for the FL constitution than his brother has
for the U.S. constitution.

During his eight years as governor, propositions have passed which amended the FL constitution. JEB has ignored many of them, the most important being smaller class sizes. This passed by a large margin, has been in place for years and JEB doesn't like it, so his attitude is, "Go fuck yourself."

Another of JEB's disgusting actions was threatening to remove Teri Schiavo from the hospice where she eventually died. He was demonstrating to the lunatic right fundies that he was one of them.

Like his imbecile brother, he has an attitude that he's in charge and the people don't count. The man doesn't have a shred of decency.

28. I have friends who are teachers.

Most people know good teachers are worth their weight in gold. Jeb treats them shamelessly. And of course, it's the kids that suffer in the long run.
