All I have to say is - Cash only Cellphones....
Edited on Thu May-11-06 12:15 PM by xultar
Makes the need for the NSA data mining unnecessary unless they are trying to do some spying shit against their opponents.

I mean really people. Let's cut to the fuckin skinny here. That is what they are doing. Spying against their opponents. The American people.

You mean to tell me the fuckers didn't care what Bill & Hill, General Clark, Kerry, Dean, Reid, Pelosi, Ammanpour, Jamie Rubin, and others were talking about or when they were tracking whom they were calling?

Of course they did.

Terrorist know when they conduct business to use cash only untraceable cellphone cards. So why even bother with the fuckin lie?

OK I'm a big bad boogieman terrorist. I'm gonna use my phuckin HOME PHONE TO MAKE PLANS TO BLOW SHIT UP. I'm gonna use CELLPHONES traceable BACK TO ME so you can catch me.

YEAH RIGHT.

What good is trying to figure out who I call if your aren't trying to hear what I said?

DO THOSE MUTHAFUCKAS THINK WE JUST JUMPED OFF THE FUCKIN TURNIP TRUCK?

I HATE THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION. I HATE THEM. I HATE THEM. I HATE THEM.

1. If you buy the "refresher minutes" card, use cash so you can't be traced
through your credit card.

5. I have an MCI calling card for my calls
I tend to recharge it via my credit card. Is there a way to send cash?

Please let me know if you have an address or something.

Thank you!

10. I have one too.
Problem #1: I bought it from BJ's Warehouse. My card is the first ID in connection with the card number. Can't buy card w/o BJ card.

Problem #2: You can't recharge the card w/o a credit card. To my knowledge, there isn't a prepaid credit card that is anonymous in existence.

My Point: We're screwed.

15. you could buy several of them
They sell them at COSTCO and they had them on sale for $14.99 - I bought 4 of them (2800 minutes).

I also paid CASH for them as well being I am boycotting American Express (outsourced hell is what American Express is), the credit card COSTCO takes.

Hmmm ...

We are screwed alright.

They got us on the DO NOT CALL registry (perhaps the rationale for it was not accurate) and all of these online databases LIKE www.privateeye.com ... :grr:

19. That's actually a pretty good price...
What phone did you have to buy to use those prepaid cards? And do you get voicemail? I use sprint and pay about $35/mo for 300 minutes...Your price, 2800 minutes for $60, blows that outta the water. Hmm, maybe I'll switch... :)

24. I didn't buy any phone
Edited on Thu May-11-06 12:36 PM by CountAllVotes
They sell them at COSTCO all of the time.

It is 2.8 cents a minute. They can hook it up so it dials the 800 # and you PIN and save this info. into your phone at home.

It works out pretty good for me. I don't use the phone much but it is dirt cheap. They told me that the only record they have is that you placed a call from your phone number but to who and where it does not say. It sort of "evaporates" into space being these cards can be used by anyone that uses it as well.

On edit: I bought 4 of them (the maximum allowed) as COSTCO had them on sale. Normally they cost $19.99.

22. Wow, there are still places that take American Express. I didn't know.
I thought MasterCard and Visa had kind of cleaned up everything. Not that I care, since I've never had a credit card, nor do I want one. Only problem is that society seems to be geared towards credit cards, and there are a lot of places (Bell payment kiosks in malls here in Canada, for instance) that refuse to take cash. Shouldn't it be illegal for companies to refuse government-minted currency? Can't they be forced to accept cash money?

31. yes American Express is the only card that COSTCO takes
1% cashback is the BIG lure. I hate American Express myself. I do have one of their cards with the lowest amount of credit on it possible. It is a good card to use if you rent a car because it has insurance attached to it if you use it (something I rarely do).

26. I think there'd be a similar proble with Costco as BJ's.
You have to be member in order to purchase merchandise. And they scan your card when you make a purchase. I'm not convinced that when you buy a prepaid phone that the phone number isn't scanned and recorded with your card/membership number.

Tell me if I'm wrong . . . .

29. It cannot be scanned
It has a coating over the numbers you must dial on the back to make it work which YOU must scratch off yourself before it will work. You can buy as many of these as you want and give them as gifts (that was my plan for one of them).

Perhaps this IS the best approach?

32. actually, oddly enough ....
I made a bunch of calls to Ohio recently. I wanted to know how many calls I had made and for how long and when. MCI said they couldn't tell me. All they know is that I used the card and that there are "X" amount of minutes remaining on it.

End of story.

37. It's easy to make calls that are not traceable to you.
Maybe it's easier to do it in a place with lots of illegal aliens.

You can buy prepaid long distance phone cards with cash and then use any random payphone. (Payphones are still profitable in some neighborhoods.)

You can buy a prepaid cellphone with cash, and activate it using someone else's phone number or internet connection.

I know many people have cellphones that are bought with cash and recharged with cash. In many communities people move around so much, and trade cellphones so often, that the databases linking names to numbers are utter crap. If you went to the place a working cellphone was registered you might find a house full or very recent immigrants who didn't speak Spanish or English and didn't know what the hell you were talking about, or who you were looking for.

A more disturbing aspect of this is geographical tracking. If you leave your cell phone on, and you carry it with you everywhere, then the bad guys can make a pretty good map of your travels if they want to.

If you are a politician you probably don't want to bring your cellphone with you on your weekly visit to the whorehouse. (Of course this advice might not help if some of the men and women working in the whorehouse also work for government.)

Anyways, were not screwed. The government belongs to us. We need to find the will to take it back.

2. Hasn't Wesley Clark already said Hayden would be a swell CIA chief?
Uh...Wesley knows he's probably had a few of his own calls tapped, too. Face it, any adult who has ever acted like an adult probably has some skeletons they'd prefer not to have on the front page of the local papers. BushCo knows this all too well, which is exactly why they sealed all their own records -- those that they hadn't already buried some other way.

Remember Tom Daschle? Why do you think he rolled over like a whimpering puppy?

12. If Hayden wasn retired appointed would we be as up in arms about
that link. I think maybe Clark knows Hayden dislikes Rummy. Maybe those stories of the Rummy Hayden headbutting sessions are true.

I mean other than the fact that Hayden is a Rethug. Who would you think Chimpy would pick? Katherine Harris? Would we like her any better? Just about all the dudes chimpolini would pick have military experience in some fashion.

All of Chimpolini's picks are party operatives some might be better than others. I'm praying Hayden is one. I don't hope Hayden gets it but I can't help shake the feeling that if he wasn't in active duty I'd hate him just a sliver less.

36. Bush doesn't pick "military" per se...he picks CRIMINALS. Did you see KO?
Last night Keith had an amazing segment on the parallels between the BFEE and a "real" crime syndicate. I was stunned. It was a very damning piece, and layed it all out there, how most of Bush's picks for virtually every post have had some nefarious activity in their past. He equated it to a crime boss who judges character on whether or not his pick was willing to go that extra mile to do anything necessary -- including criminal activity -- to achieve a goal.

3. The way they were always one step ahead of the Dem race leaders
during the 2004 campaign, it doesn't take too much imagination to figure they did.

I've said before...the way the Bush etals groupthink, I can very easily see Rove putting out the case that John Kerry (basically, anybody but Bush) is a threat to America. That threat makes it a National Security issue. Therefore, Bush is protecting America and must have this information in order to do so.

I couldn't agree more. They must think we are as stupid as they are.

Any terrorist organization that has half a wit isn't going to do business on the damn phone or in email. They must think that no one else in the world can get news from the US! This story is worldwide fcol!

I guess the misAdministration will just have to start hijacking couriers on bikes now.
