2. That was only in reference to *one* NSA spying program. Remeber the AG?
"In a letter yesterday to senators in which he asked to clarify his Feb. 6 testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Gonzales also seemed to imply that the administration's original legal justification for the program was not as clear-cut as he indicated three weeks ago.

At that appearance, Gonzales confined his comments to the National Security Agency's warrantless wiretapping program, saying that President Bush had authorized it "and that is all that he has authorized."

But in yesterday's letter, Gonzales, citing that quote, wrote: "I did not and could not address . . . any other classified intelligence activities." Using the administration's term for the recently disclosed operation, he continued, "I was confining my remarks to the Terrorist Surveillance Program as described by the President, the legality of which was the subject" of the Feb. 6 hearing."

4. THEY LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING
They will continue to lie about everything until they're hanged.

Actually they'll also lie to their maker at the pearly gates, so I take that back.

5. Just pretend that you are the parent of
a child telling these half truths (and even thats a stretch). We can just give up, Congress is officially irrelevant! The terrorists have indeed won. Civil liberties are now just a fond past memory.
Does anyone really have hope for the USA that we all loved and were proud of?

7. Idiot says they only listen to those.
They only keep track of the ones inside the country.

See the difference is, Idiot says they don't actually listen to the calls inside the country, they only keep a record of who you call and who calls you.
That makes all the difference. :wtf:

Idiot says thank you for choosing the NSA Network for your telecommunications needs.

9. Did you notice that they're now saying that they don't RECORD....
...American phone calls within the U. S.?

Of course they don't!

But here's what they're really doing. They're doing keyword scanning that doesn't require recording entire conversations, just flagging the caller and the recepient of the call. Doing keyword scanning allows the NSA to easily process all communications within the U. S.

And yes...they're all lying about the level of surveillance on all Americans.

11. Those are the ones they actually LISTEN to.... everything else..
they just record the demographics..

Where the call originated.
Where it connected.
The duration.
The frequency that this particular connection is made.
etc...

12. Remember a few months back when we were attacked for
getting so upset about the spying on Americans?

RW pundits kept arrogantly announcing, "They are only monitoring international calls to or from suspected terrorists, the average American isn't being spied on and has nothing to worry about"..

BULLSHIT!

15. The excuse
We were meant to program the software to record all calls starting with 011 however we made a programming error and ended up recording everything starting with 1. It was an honest mistake. Diebold did it :P
