US military, intelligence officials raise concern about possible preparations for Iran strike

Larisa Alexandrovna
Published: Thursday May 11, 2006

Use of Iraq terror group bypassed Congress, sources say

Concern is building among the military and the intelligence community that the US may be preparing for a military strike on Iran, as military assets in key positions are approaching readiness, RAW STORY has learned.

According to military and intelligence sources, an air strike on Iran could be doable in June of this year, with military assets in key positions ready to go and a possible plan already on the table.

....................

Strike could come earlier than thought

Other military and intelligence sources are expressing concern both privately and publicly that air strikes on Iran could come earlier than believed.

25. I heard another DU'er the other day talking about family that is in the
Armed Forces and they are having June leave cancelled.

Other than that I have not seen anything concrete.

This is gonna be a long summer :(

27. We're all jumpier than than a six-toed cat in heat.
I think we're being punked by a pack of psywar pros. If this is the extent of it, they aren't playing serious ball. Yet.

Still no real positive signs, such as naval redeployments, ground forces hunkering down, etc. We'd be hearing about leaves cancelled from multiple real-world sources, if anything was imminent.

If your friend's being redeployed to the region, it's to a base in Iraq or possibly Azarbijan. Tasking orders and ordinance would follow.

If there are mission package orders to bomb Iran, they won't be issued until forces are in place and ready to go. There's no way your friend is being told at this point what he's being deployed to do. There are always rumours when there are tensions.

I would treat this very skeptically until there's some sort of real evidence that these rumours and drum beating are anything more than psychological operations against Iran and the American voter.

Where's the USS John F Kennedy??? Last I heard, she was off the coast of Iran in the Indian Ocean. I fear she's going to be this action's "WTC sacrifice" (to drum up support for this bullshit). She might be decommissioned this year (making her expendable in this action) and you just KNOW how much the Bush family hates the Kennedys (that's why she's being decommed instead of the older USS Kitty Hawk). Maybe I'm being paranoid - I really pray I'm wrong...:(

The ship is not combat mission capable. This is the latest from the ship's official site:

CNO makes good on pledge with second visit to JFK
From USS John F. Kennedy Public Affairs
March 30, 2006
NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. - Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Michael G. Mullen paid a special visit to USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) Wednesday in order to keep Sailors aboard abreast of the ongoing debate over the storied carrier’s future.

This unfounded rumour stuff about sinking the thing in the Straits of Hormuz isn't helpful.

29. He has been here

http://nobravery.cf.huffingtonpost.com/

No Bravery

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
Tears drying on their face.
He has been here.
Brothers lie in shallow graves.
Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
Since he's been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
He has been here.
Tracer lighting up the sky.
It's another families' turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
He has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
He has been here.
Old men kneel and accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
A generation drenched in hate.
Yes, he has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

James Blunt

28. For a second please hold me
http://www.bushflash.com/year.html

Enveloped in a sentiment,
A sound that rushes over me.
Engage an impulse to pretend
I have a faith as pure.
Not forgetting what it means to dream.
Indulging everything.
Entertaining thoughts that I've the strength
Of those I yearn to be.
Cheers and tribute greet the saviours.
Reckless thoughts survive.
Anachronistic and impulsive.

And what will happen?
Will I dream?
I am too scared to close my eyes.
For a second please hold me.
None can change in me these things that I believe.
But I don't know what happens now.
I am too scared to close my eyes.

9. Wasn't it supposed to be June 7th? Also, what about the nuke option?
IIRC, Sy Hersch's piece has said there were going to be some high level resignations if Bush etal didn't take the nuke option out of the plans. It's been about two weeks since the deadline when they were going to be demanding it.

So, either they took that out, or there are some resignations we haven't heard about. (or Sy was mis-informed.)

Iraq probably taught them a lesson regarding Churchill's warning.

If it is June, I am guessing a false flag operation will be the precursor. Then the inevitable negative consequences for the general public can be blamed on Iran, the meme 'we were forced into this conflict, and anyone against it is a traitor'.

15. why are they destroying the US?
My hubby's cousin visited the USSR before the "breakdown." He said observing the people over there and what their government was doing, almost looked like what was happening in the US. Bankrupting us through bogus wars and taking from the treasury, are they intentially destroying us within so that the corporate powers in the world have total control over the people? Is this part of the New World Plan, not just the wacko PNAC plan? I'm just asking, because it seems to me that there sure in a hurry to complete their maniacal agenda--whatever that is. And, remember after the breakdown in the USSR, the elderly were being kicked out of their homes and selling family heirlooms for food, because the social infrastructure collapsed. The mob got a tighter hold on the country and blackmarketing went wild.

34. Sources confirm MEK carried out March attack.
From OP link:

In addition, sources say that a March attack that killed 22 Iranian officials in the province of Sistan va Baluchistan was carried out by the MEK.

According to a report by Iran Focus filed Mar. 23, the twenty-two people killed in the ambush included high ranking officials, including the governor of Zahedan.

"Hours after the attack took place, Ahmadi-Moqaddam announced there was evidence the assailants had held meetings with British intelligence officers," the Iranian news service reported.

OK...how is this NOT a repeat of what we were doing to Iraq in 2002?
