WASHINGTON (AP) - The government is secretly collecting records of ordinary Americans' phone calls in an effort to build a database of every call made within the country, it was reported Thursday.

AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth telephone companies began turning over records of tens of millions of their customers' phone calls to the National Security Agency program shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, said USA Today, citing anonymous sources it said had direct knowledge of the arrangement.

The program does not involve listening to or taping the calls. Instead it documents who talks to whom in personal and business calls, whether local or long distance, by tracking which numbers are called, the newspaper said.

Link will follow as soon as I can get one.

5. Not just corporate espionage...think of how many people....
...the NeoCons have placed on an enemy's list.

Think of all of the legal investigations currently being conducted against the NeoCons and their supporters.

The potential for abuse is infinite.

12. This is just a completely new "political" position to me.

This equates Bush not with a king but with Gold Almighty. The populace traditionally didn't necessarily think you would "just trust" even the KING. If you were a God Emperor like Augustes Caesar, maybe...

I wonder if the paid her money to say it? There seems to be a general God Emperor vibe going on...

4. They're doing keyword scans...every time one pops up....
...it gets flagged. Key words like "terrorism", or "terror", "bomb" (as in she's the bomb or he's the bomb), or perceived threats to Our Fearless Leader and his NeoCon cohorts, posts on a message board, emails to friends, or plans to attend demonstrations, etc.

Think about how many times you've been critical of Herr Busch for one policy or another...get the picture?

9. Time to flood the wires with junk calls
Why not drown them in irrelevant phone calls?
If each of us made 4 or 5 times as many phone calls as we usually do, it could eventually end up swamping their evil system.

Call your cousins, call your great-aunt, call your old college friends, call everyone you can think of.

10. How is it possible to document who's involved without listening?
My household has four people. How are they going to know exactly who in our house makes or takes a call and document the participants without listening?

Answer is: They can't!!! In order to document the participants, they MUST listen to determine WHO the parties are.

Until it is completely denied, it is merely speculation, NO!?!
