Trent Lott: 'Jeb Would Lose to Hillary'
And Trent Lott had some shocking words on "Hardball."

Lott was his usual outspoken self. Asked about Pres. Bush's comment about brother Jeb Bush's '08 potential, Lott: "Well, certainly you would say that about your own brother. Otherwise your mother might discipline you. Look, I don't think it's going to happen in 2008. Frankly, I don't think it's a good idea. I would not be supportive of Jeb Bush running for president. But I certainly understand why the president would say that about his own brother."

Asked if J. Bush could beat Hillary Clinton, Lott: "I don't think so, no." More: "I think the Republican nominee will eventually be able to win, will be able to beat Hillary Clinton or any Democrat."

MSNBC's Matthews: "Whoa, you're just revising and extending here, senator. You just said that Jeb would lose to Hillary."

Lott: "I don't think he'd be the best candidate for the nomination. You know, I've said that about and I'm not backing off of that."

2. END THE DYNASTIES on BOTH sides of the coin!!!
DAMN. 300 million people and the only ones qualified to run our country HAVE to sport a last name of either Bush or Clinton?

Small wonder why the American pop media cares so much about Britain's royal family. We pretty much have two ourselves.

4. How CAN Jeb lose as long as we have
electronic voting machines that do not issue paper receipts? (definitely sarcasm meant here)

Those damned machines should either be destroyed with axes the way the feds used to destroy liquor stills and speakeasys or transformed into ATM-like machines that DO issue receipts.

7. I'm sick of the media furthering a Hillary nomination and WIN...
...The media assumes she will be the Dem nominee.

Why do they do this?

She's hated outside of Dem circles. Independents don't like her and the Republicans can't stand her. At least 40 percent of the Dem party dislikes her as much as the Republicans.

I'm really sick of her being the media's candidate.

I guess they figure---that if they proclaim Hillary the 08 Dem candidate enough times--people will eventually vote for her?

I am so not interested in Hillary.

12.  Trent goes which ever way the wind blows and works hard at the same
time to sound so original and wise. He'll soon be the minority leader again.

14. Yep. Trent's ambition: minority leader. And revenge, of course.
He can't be leader unless he tears down the current leadership, and he can't tear down the current leadership and retain the majority. Short run, minority leader.

17. Actually, I think HRC'd probably loose to Jeb!(Tm)
He's got more of a record than she has, the media likes him fairly well, and he's got a much better excuse for supporting Smirk and his policies than she does. If red state Americans can (supposedly) get over who HIllary is and who Hillary's married to, then why would blue state Americans reject Jeb(TM!) because of his brother? Are we less reasonable? Are we more blinded by partisanship?

Then there's the fact that Jeb(TM!) would carry Florida, and unless there's something I don't know about him, the red states...

Still, it is amusing to watch Trent Lott turn on the Smirk family like a cornered weasel. Can't wait to see him turn on Cat-Killer Frist for making a pig's breakfast of Trent's old job...
