When the subject turned to legalized gay marriage, the rivals responded gingerly. Lieberman said "my mind is open" though he wants to preserve the institution of heterosexual marriage.

Like why is the NSA wiretap story being pimped now? It looks like a scoop, but is it really? Looks more to me like a story we all knew that is being dragged up again. Why, for what purpose? Intimidation, perhaps? Scare us out of speaking out, marching, gathering, etc.

Kind of like this story is mostly intended to distract us.

Fuck Mary Cheney. She can go to hell with her old man. The real story is that we need to fight against war and corporate rule. Those two things. All the rest is bullshit.

Well, the question has come up obviously in the past with respect to the question of gay marriage. Lynne and I have a gay daughter, so it's an issue that our family is very familiar with. I really doubt Tennet ever said that as Woodward reported it. I expect Cheney presented it to Woodward, and Woodward dutifully printed it.
