Screw '08. Midterms are the prize right now.
If we don't take back Congress this year, we're fucked.

All this shit about Hillary and Murdock(sp) is a red herring.
Typical RW diversion. Let's worry about '08 in '08.

Right now '06 is the prize.

Focus, people.

1. We really aren't fucked if we don't take back the house
Think hookergate and all that jazz. Enough pressure has been placed on dozens of congresspeople in connection with hookergate and abramoff that it is possible we could see the Dems get the house in a quorum with the resignation of a couple dozen repugs in time for the Dems to change enough witht he election system etc, and give us the house in special election. I really think this is a possibility.

3. That's an interesting take on the corruption debacle...
First time for this method isn't it?
Has it ever happened in our political history?

4. Well it wasnt really corruption in 1994

But Democrats were retiring left and right. Whether or not it happened before the elctions or after, the GOP at that time would've taken the house. Of course, before an election is the most common time for such a thing to take place. But I think there isn't much somone can do if they are rounded up by authorities. They probably won't resign before the election, but as they see what's coming, we'll probably see them resigning their chairmanships and stepping down from their positions of seniority. NOt too long after that, I think they'll be take out. Again this is really hopeful thinking, but I think it's true.

We'll need to really look up a history book to see if it has happened. Though quorum rules have been set for some time, so I'm guessing a similiar scenario has taken place at least once in our nation's history.

6. Yeah the machines are what makes me think we won't
But my scenario is a real possiblity despite that fact. If we can gget down to as few machines as we had before 2004, I think we'll have a heckuva chance at taking the house. But if there are too many, I will have my doubts. I have the crazy idea Ohio will steal the rest of the Dem seats to keep us from getting it. Oh well

time will tell, yeah?

8. I'm saying there is likelihood they will be arrested in the masses
Edited on Thu May-11-06 01:55 AM by Tiggeroshii
good dozen or so within similar time periods after the election giving the Dems an immediate majority in the house d/t a shortage of GOP members. There would be special elections held within a couple months of theseresignations/arrests, but for taht period, the Dems will have the hosue and be able to change things quite quickly without winning a majority. But rather gaining it throught he GOP's incompetence.

2. Hillary Will NOT Win the 08 Nomination..
Her link to Murdoch seals that deal..
Anyone with associations to Bush budies..will find the rath of the 70% of America who despise George Bush and anything or anyone associated with his name.
Hillary should be standing on her own platform. She was respected then.
News of her associations lately will be her own undoing.

I predict.
( maybe they promised her a Diebold election?)
bastards..all of them..

There are finer candidates for Presidency than Hillary anyway..
Feingold..etc

10. who cares?
this is a discussion forum we can discuss whatever we want within reason. I know what I'm doing for '06 here in Wisconsin and the volunteering I'm already doing for different candidates. Whenever I'm posting on DU I'm not exactly doing much of anything for '06 or '08 which is constructive, so what difference does it make what is posted? People, post whatever you like. Post about '06, post about '08 if you want. But if you really want to make a difference for '06 or '08 don't spend all your days on DU--get out and volunteer for a candidate or cause.
