OMG! Finally the main stream news gets it right! Holy Cow!
Now companies are betting it will help them capture consumers who want white-bread taste with whole-grain health benefits.

"The American public certainly is not going to say, 'I love that brown, rich, grainy look to things and I'm going to embrace it,'" says P.J. Hamel, a spokeswoman at King Arthur Flour, which has sold white whole-wheat flour since 1992.

"They've been brought up on white bread and if you can get whole wheat to look like it, that's what it will take," she said.

Yep! People are eating White Bread! Screw the fact that New Orleans for all intents and purposes is gone. Baghdad=gone. The US economy=gone. Health Care in the US=gone. Seriously, who cares? Gimme a pb and honey on white bread, and a nice high fructose corn syrup this shit is really Coke? Coke, please.

1. Our local grocery doesn't even stock white bread.
We were also the first city in the US to ban trans fats in restaurants.

8. I'm ex-Marin - lived in Gerstle Park for the past 20 years
Moved to Mt. Shasta last summer to ride things out away from masses of population. It's great up here.

6. Um - I love that brown rich grainy stuff. Prefer it to spongy white crap.
I know the point you're trying to make, but honestly, whole grain bread is so much better. This story is just a symptom of what's really wrong with this country.

10. my kids have eaten white bread like twice in their lives
when i had to buy it for a recipe. they are conditioned and use to crunchy bumpy brown bread. white is a whole different concept. i will say though, the last time i got it, .... last christmas, my oldest really liked it. my youngest said nothing and eats our grain bread all the time.

now i think about it. my oldest doesnt like sandwiches, bah hahahah i wonder if it is the bread. so funny. doesnt like toast either. tough shit. he is getting the healthy bread.

Ate only the crusts and blew their tiny minds.
