3. Fuckin Arlen Specter started bleating about "I take UMBRAGE!"
What a crybaby. This is a fucking LIFETIME appointment--every angle of ScAlito needs to be scrutinized.

4. Old person here. I watched the Bork hearings, and the Thomas
hearings (until 3 in the morning.) This is, hands down, the sleaze of the sleaze. This guy should be in jail, not a Supreme nomination. Absolutely no moral or ethical character, just another greedy, grasping, amoral Repuke who will say or do anything to achieve power.

5. The GOP disclaimer was "Alito was not a MAJOR contributor." !!!
Heads up, gang! I think another disclaimer was that Alito was not a "leader" of the group. Divernan predicts that the CAP records will show that Alito renewed his membership year after year; paid dues or otherwise regularly sent in $$$; was on a mailing list to receive all publications with their racist, sexist, homophobic content, put out by CAP; perhaps attended gatherings of the group and PERHAPS even sent in a letter to the editor or an article or two. You know damn well there was some reason Spector turned down Kennedy's original request. I thought Senator Kennedy handled the matter masterfully - setting Alito up to have to agree it was OK with him for these materials to be reviewed and then putting Spector on the spot on national TV.

7. This is the Dems best hope of derailing him without a fillibuster.
If records show he was actively involved or was an officer then he is toast.
