BBC: UK hacker 'should be extradited'
UK hacker 'should be extradited'

UK hacker Gary McKinnon should be recommended for extradition
to the US, a district court judge has ruled.

The decision means Mr McKinnon will face trial in America for what
the US has called "the biggest military hack of all time".

Although he has admitted hacking US military networks, Mr McKinnon said
he was motivated by curiosity not malice.

The final decision on whether he should be sent to the US for trial rests
with the home secretary.

1. Worthwhile to add this interesting BBC interview
with the chap:

Of course he should not be extradited, on these terms, for this. English law should be enough.

3. English law won't be enough.
Our government has decided that as part of its obesience to Bush it has to hand over any of our citizens as desired.

There was a case of 3 British bankers, who lived in Britain, worked in Britain. They were alleged to have committed a crime in Britain, against a British company. Yet they're going to be extradicted to the U.S.

4. Judgement and Retribution... American Style.
Once upon a time, it was even modestly respectable. Our judiciary itself has been seriously infected/affected by the current Republican grab for power and it won't be restored to it's former wisdom and respect for law in the foreseeable future. That is to say that some of the serious internal injuries inflicted upon our nation by it's masochistic Republican leadership aren't as evident as others; such is the case when beaten with a rubber hose. Of course, other wounds are deep, gaping, bleeding wounds with exposed broken bone; such is the case when the abuser uses an axe.
Still, we're able to intimidate other countries into subverting their own legal systems in favor of ours. Nevermind that we have a "President" who is 'above the law', wants to create his own separate judicial system (all the while continuing to corrupt the real one). It's a hell of a thing.

Beaten, bleeding and nearing unconsciousness (hell, we were already half-unconscious before being beaten senseless), with no one to help us but ourselves... But, being unable to even move until we've recovered at least some, we may not be able to help ourselves. If we aren't healed enough to help ourselves by November, it may be too late.

All in all, given our condition, we almost seem a bit too confident/comfortable; we must resist the urge to just slip into that soothing, pain-free sleep...
