Fire forces evacuations in Sun City Center

The mandatory evacuation order came about the same time President Bush was wrapping up a visit to the area.

SUN CITY CENTER -

The evacuation order came about the same time that President Bush was wrapping up a visit to the area. He spoke to residents in Sun City Center on Tuesday morning, then visited with fire officials who worked overtime Monday to put out a massive brush fire that threatened homes.

"I've always been impressed by those who come out and fight fires and save lives and save property,''
President Bush said, as local officials were evacuating residents.

Gov. Bush cautioned people against throwing out their cigarettes onto highways � which is a crime.

President Bush also said that Monday's blaze, which jumped I-75, was caused by sparks from utility
lines.
