I've heard noise that even the pukes are uncomfortable with this choice and with pressure could be convinced to stand up to the moran* and say no.
With busholini* at 31% and falling it wouldn't be that hard, but with this congress liking vacations as much as il douche* could he thumb his nose and appoint this guy when they take their next vaca?

1. Yes.
It would be a stupid move, but I reckon that wouldn't stop him.

6. All his worst appointments are recess appointments
and Congress does nothing but roll over and play dead, rather than challenging His Eminence by voting on those appointments the way they're supposed to when they reconvene, get the bad ones OUT OF THERE.

Stupid has NEVER given up on a rotten appointee. The only reason Estrada isn't a Federal Judge is because HE realized he wasn't up to the job and withdrew, although Stupid blamed those mean old Democrats.

if he doesn't get his way. Maybe that will show everyone that this man is like a loose cannon. Bush has Negroponte to answer to.

3. Yes, but only when Congress is in recess.
BTW, and recess appointments that he has made (such as Bolton at the UN) expire on next January when the new Congress begins.

13. Here's a related question:
When all the current recess appointments expire in January 2007, and Bush renominates them all for permanent appointments, some will inevitably get bogged down again, and rightfully so. But can Bush just make further recess appointments, say during Congress's Easter recess in spring 2007?

5. What, and deny him an up-or-down vote? Oh the repukes would NEVER do that!
In 2008, I think we should put in place a mechanism for expeditiously REMOVING recess appointments from office.

7. Yes, there needs to be a review process
The first order of business should be reviewing any recess appointments, in fact I'd go as far as to remove the recess appointment altogether.
In previous times there was a need for this, but with todays ability to be in DC in hours or to teleconferrence there just isn't a need or this.

8. What makes you think he would abide by the law and wait until
a recess? Spoiled little Chucklenuts (with the mentality of a three year old high on sugar) wants Hayden and he wants him NOW! (Terra, terra, 9/11, 9/11, terra, terra!) Since the rules and laws are just mere suggestions for King Chimpy he doesn't even have to wait, just tell the Congress their input is no longer needed, put the guy in the office and just dare anyone to challenge him. For all of Hassert's and Frist's faux thunder and outrage, they will cave to this guy and then somehow find a way to blame Clinton.

10. The Senate isn't in session May 29-June 2
That's the Memorial Day recess -- just about right for Bush to plop Hayden into place. If that doesn't work for him, there's another week off around the Fourth of July.

11. I'm surprised they're bothering with a confirmation hearing in
in the first place. It's just a formality for the psycho and his cabal. He'll do whatever the hell he wants. He doesn't have to follow rules and laws.:eyes:
