Biden, Clinton or Feingold ?
I know there are others who may run, but these are the three names I hear the most-and seem the most interested in running.
gore, clark and the others have been quiet.

1. Feingold.
The best senator we have. The only with with the guts to vote against the Patriot Act, and that in Oct. 2001.

17. OK, I have my armor on...What do you all have against Biden?
I watched him on Road to the White Hosue on cspan last night, and I must say I was impressed. he was speaking to a crowd in SC. He knows how to fight, can usually win, or at the very worst come out even in any argument I've ever seen him have with a Pub on TV.

He was very well received in that SC meeting too. Whay do you have against him?

30. I admit, I don't know anything about the "Rave" parties.
I guess I'm too damn old for that stuff. But I looked up the Rave Act, and this is the opening wording of the bill.

A BILL
To prohibit an individual from knowingly opening, maintaining, managing, controlling, renting, leasing, making available for use, or profiting from any place for the purpose of manufacturing, distributing, or using any controlled substance, and for other purposes.

I noticed it uses the words "Knowingly, and Profiting". Maybe you disagree with me too, but I think it would be a better Country if Ecstacy, and Rohypnol weren't around.

Maybe his bill wasn't the right way to try to eliminate those drugs, but do you really think he shouldn't have tried SOMETHING?

You cant have a party anymore...Alcohol is a controlled substance...

So if you invite a few friends over for a beer...you are in violation? It seems to read that way...

38. He Added it to the Amber Bill In the Conference Cmte. in the Dead of Night
It had been beaten down on its own in the previous session.
There were petitions, thousands of phone calls and faxes and letters…

But public opinion was merely something to be gotten around
by attaching it to the sacred-cow Amber alert bill.
No chance for debate, no chance to vote on the addition by either chamber!

A travesty of democracy.

Since it has been passed, it has been used to threaten property owners who
are hosting political demonstrations, among other things.

If you don't think pot smokers should be sent to prison for 20 years, you must be in favor of child molestation.

47. Actually, no. I think the "Something" that needs to be "Tried"
Edited on Tue May-09-06 03:55 PM by impeachdubya
is to stop blowing $40 Billion dollars a year (not counting the costs of ever-increasing levels of incarceration of non-violent drug offenders, while truly violent criminals are released to make sure there's cell space for the mandatory minimum pot smokers) on a bullshit drug war.

A war which has, by the way, at its philosophical core the extremely dubious proposition that what a consenting adult does with his or her own body or bloodstream, while not hurting anyone else, is at all the government's business.

This "Law" Biden pushed also would have classified every single Dead show I went to in my entire life as a "criminal enterprise". Woodstock would have been one, too.

But even without that, Biden is a puffed up, pontificating, narcissitic windbag. They'd need to build another wing to the White House just to accomodate the fucker's ego.

And he's just as bad as Hillary when it comes to Iraq. No Thanks.

Edit: You must have missed the word "OR" before the word "profiting". Allegedly profiting from one of those kinds of "criminal enterprises" is only ONE of the potentially criminal acts defined in this bogus piece of crap law. As in, "opening, maintaining, managing, controlling, renting, leasing, making available for use, or profiting".

And even then, using that definition of "profiting", the late Bill Graham probably would have been locked up for life, no possibility of parole. Another great victory for Freedom. Yippee!

Now Gore/Feingold would be WONDERFUL.

I detest Clinton and Biden, both. It seems, IMHO, to be mainly GOP & media who are focusing on Clinton and Biden...

On Edit: Al Gore wins 5-round Nashua Advocate '08 Poll over 31 others
