He disavowed his INSANE comments on job applications for the Reagan administration and Ed Meese by saying he just wanted to say what THEY WANTED TO HEAR.

point that out to him tomorrow: "Judge Alito, you have tesified that when you applied for jobs with the Reagan administration you wrote on the application what you thought they would want to read in an effort to get the job. How do we know that you aren't doing the same during these hearings? The only way we know the real Judge Alito is by your decisions on the court which are overwhelmingly against the mainstream."
