Soft-pedal Tulsa World article about protest at OSU
A friend of mine attended the protest at OSU yesterday, said 300+ turned out - he was interviewed by reporters for the Tulsa World and the OSU campus paper the O'Colly. I was happy to hear that, and excited to see the article in today's Tulsa World about it.
Yeah, well - what a disappointing super soft-pedal by the Tulsa World! (Even in the title, for cryin' out loud):

Bush backers, critics rally

Police say the demonstrators were sometimes loud, but always orderly.

STILLWATER -- About 300 people demonstrated against President Bush at Oklahoma State University on Saturday, while about 30 of his supporters gathered nearby to express their respect for the commander-in-chief.

The four-hour protest was noisy at times, but orderly. Protesters shouted "Liar, Liar," when Bush's helicopter hovered overhead, and periodically chanted slogans such as "Bush lies, thousands die," and "Feed the poor, not the war."

Across the street, Bush supporters grew considerably in size after his speech. Their slogans included "Hippies, go home," "Get a job," and "Back to the '60s."

1. I was there and all the local news lowballed our numbers...

and inflated the counter protestors.

The local (Tulsa) tv stations were even worse, barely mentioned our
protest and ended their reports with the counter protests, as if
to give them the last word.

2. My friend's in one of the pix you posted, 5X!
Guy in the green polo shirt, 4th pic down. Great job on the photos, by the way.

I agree, the TV coverage was crappy, too, and sorry to say I shouldn't have expected any different!

Nevertheless a BIG salute to those who marched! :patriot:
It takes a lot of heart and conviction to protest in a place where even the DIRT is red! Wish I could've been there!
