And the word of the day is: SCHMUCK!
Bush says best moment as President was "catching a fish in my lake"

Schmuck, a Yiddish word, has a range of meaning depending on context. In its most innocuous use, a schmuck is a person who does a stupid thing, in which case “dumb schmuck” is the appropriate expression.

A schmuck's behavior ranges from pesky and inconsiderate, to obnoxious and manipulative. A schmuck's personality type ranges from jerk to bastard.

Schmucky behavior also falls within a range of intentionality. Some schmucks carefully plan their bad behavior, some only a little, and some not at all. For example, the bastard may spend considerable time planning his bad deeds. In contrast, the dumb schmuck and the pesky behave badly without any forethought.

Bush says best moment as President was "catching a fish in my lake"
He really is the worst president ever. :dunce:

"You know, I've experienced many great moments and it's hard to name the best," Bush told weekly Bild am Sonntag when asked about his high point since becoming president in January 2001.

"I would say the best moment of all was when I caught a 7.5 pound (3.402 kilos) perch in my lake," he told the newspaper in an interview published on Sunday.

1. "Schmuck" fits him perfectly
because he's kind of a hapless idiot who always does the wrong thing when he's given an opportunity to choose between good and bad. He's got a reverse Midas touch and he will screw anyone who gets near him, intentionally or not, although it's most often intentionally.

"Schmuck" means prick, but it can be laughed off. The pejorative equivalent, "putz," means the same thing but is a slightly more serious insult. "Schmuck" means "ornament" in German, so that's a clue to the essentially sarcastic nature of Yiddish, a nature I love.

"Schmuck" is perfect for an evil little lightweight like Stupid, a tool of much more seriously evil people, a towel snapping frat boy who was elevated far beyond his ability to cope with the world by a corrupt family and party.

7. LOL! How interesting! Does Schmuck really mean ornament in
German? I love your post, BTW.

13. Yeah, but the Yiddish is probably
from Polish for 'dragon' or maybe 'snake'. Cf. some American's calling their dick a 'lizard'.

'Dick' and 'dork' cover the same semantic range as 'schmuck.' (Although perhaps because it also means 'roster', 'cock' doesn't.)

2. I think Shmuck is much too kind of a word
to use in describing Bush.

3. He is completely CLUELESS and SOUL-LESS. Wonder how he would
respond to the question "What has been your WORST moment as President?"
