"Rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg!"
Edited on Sun May-07-06 11:36 AM by Hissyspit
Heh, heh, heh...

I just can't quit giggling about that one. "...this administration is SOARING!"

A Visual Representation of the Soaring Bush Administration Today:

Timely enough, an actual deck chair from the Titanic is to be aunctioned here in America:

http://archives.tcm.ie/irishexaminer/2006/04/12/story121857187.asp

There are no deck chairs from the Hindenburg to be auctioned because, we can assume, they were COMPLETELY DESTROYED in the disatrous end to the ILL-ADVISED ERA, no matter how much or how often the deck chairs were rearranged.

For the record, here's the transcript of the joke:

"So the White House has personnel changes. Then you write, "Oh, they're just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic." First of all, that is a terrible metaphor. This administration is not sinking. This administration is soaring. If anything, they are rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg!"

NOTE: Apologies to any relatives of victims or survivors of the Hindenburg disaster!

1. I would say "Oh, the humanity!" except for one thing...
...I don't think you'll find too much humanity in the Bush Administration.

3. See? They really don't have a sense of humor. That, was funny.
I can't stop giggling either. That was the line of lines. He used their own denial. But instead of going in their direction, he took it the other way. Surprise! Have a punch to the gut.

4. Not to keep rehashing the point, but, yeah, people in that audience

were not barrel laughing. They knew they were gettting skewered.

That point has been made over the past week repeatedly, but THIS image of the Hindenburg, though, is apparently going to be very fitting this week and the weeks to follow and for November.
