"The blogs went nuts over it of course.Going nuts is their natural state."
Bob Schaeffer on Face The Nation, talking about whether the National Anthem should be sung in Spanish or not.

Dear Mr. Schaeffer, if you and the majority of the corporate media
and the majority of your well heeled, well rehearsed guests
and the majority of the well scripted Congress
and the majority of the manipulative and manipulated stories you tell
were NOT NUTS
there would be no need for the blogosphere to "go nuts."

:hi:

4. The RW blogs DID go nuts over it.
Then they shut up when we lefties pointed out, on OUR blogs, that the anthem had been translated into Spanish in 1919 and that the state dept's own website had literally dozens of translated versions.

Now if the freepers would just learn to do some research before they post on their blogs . . . LOL

America’s song already has multiple versions AUDIO
By DAVID GOLDSTEIN
The Star’s Washington Correspondent

WASHINGTON — Psst.

Someone ought to tell the president, Congress and anyone else upset over the Spanish translation of “The Star-Spangled Banner” that they’re about 90 years too late.

The government already gave its blessing when the U.S. Bureau of Education prepared a Spanish version of the song — in 1919.

And that translation has been available on the Library of Congress’ Web site for the past two years without so much as a sniff of disapproval.

Then there’s the National Anthem Project, a group that supports music in schools and boasts first lady Laura Bush as honorary chairwoman. Several members of Congress are also supporters. If you need a mariachi or steel drum version of the national anthem, they’ve got you covered.

3. Repugs only know how to demean. Nothing they say has credibility
so they must behave in an antagonistic manner. Poor babies. "Take the high road" is not in their realm of understanding.
