It is a common error to equate the current republican regime with that of Hitler’s regime. A more correct analogy is that of Stalin’s USSR of the 30s.
The one thing that more closely aligns the republicans with Stalin than with Hitler is their attitude towards science. Only with Stalin and his support Lysenkoism did a regime embrace such pseudo-science as is being touted today by the republicans. In the name of “Sound-science” the republicans are embracing fringe contrarians and the purveyors of pseudo-science for policy making on every important scientific problem facing the world and American.
On the charge of keeping the public uninformed or misinformed through propaganda and control of the press the similarity between Hitler, Stalin and the Republican Party is striking. The maintaining of power by limiting it to ideological apparatchiki is also a telling characteristic of the Hitler, Stalin and Republican regime.
The comparison could go on with the same finding; the Hitler, Stalin and Bush are closer than is Bush and past American political epochs. Only in the area of disdain and perversion of science does the weight of evidence shift to more align the Stalin’s 1930 USSR and Bush’s 2006 America.
Stalin would feel at home in today’s America and it took the Republican Party do bring that about.
