Russert is a bigger p---k than Matthews,
and that's a tall order in my book.

He's really angry at Pelosi...he knows what's going to come down during the next few weeks/months and he's scared and apoplectic. Anyone watching MTP today knows what a mean S.O.B. he's become now that the scandals will eclipse all other news. He'll be professionally indicted as an enabler and a man who failed to ask the obvious follow-ups all these years.
Pelosi is enraged at Fatboy's outrage...tis next few months are going to be most interesting...

2. Pelosi is doing well and holding her own. Tim must make her
break. So far, he's falling.

As an aside, last night I called Pelosi a dunce. I find I must take that back today.

3. Yes, and her calm and classy demeanor ...
is a big plus during these kind of dust ups.

It makes her adversaries look like (are?) dominating horses' patooties.

You go girl! I can say the forgoing coz I R one :P.

We (fighting Dems) love ya Nancy Pelosi. :loveya: :yourock:

4. She's OK
she's not as polished an orator as those repulsive rethugs who populate these shows - the fact that she hesitates before she replies and stutters slightly is not to her benefit. PLEASE don't take this as a repudiation of her, but anyone who thinks that the Dems have the rhetorical edge as far as the masses are concerned is not paying attention. Interestingly, the two best orators, other than Clinton, Kennedy and Cuomo Sr., were made into caricatures and personally destroyed. It's a shame.

8. I'll get slaughtered along with you. I agree. Nancy is a good rep.
but her oratory skills are not that good. I'm surprised at that too. That's a problem that most candidates have when they are first elected, but after a few years of experience, they get much much better! I too dream of finding a few GOOD orators within the Dem Party! The ideas are there! But they all seem to have a very difficult time expressing them to the average "Joe" who MAYBE catches a MTP, or Face the Nation show once in a while.

It is a shame, but I'll keep watching and hoping.

7. He is a FAT RODENT, on a sinking ship, and he doesn't know how to swim
A bit problematic for Timmy the Potatohead...he saw Scooter tossed under the bus, and he's walking a tightrope. Does he respond fully to the questions posed by Fitzgerald, and risk complete and total pariah status from the regime? Does he try to infer that he's being cautious with Fitz, in hopes that the regime won't toss his flaccid butt over the side?

Notice how his "good gets" aren't coming around so much anymore??? Gone now are the days of waddling over to the White House and interviewing the Monkey from a cramped chair in the Map Room...where's Condi, Dick, and some of the other regime cretins (as he used to say, quite gleefully as he warmed up to toss softballs, FOR THE FULL HOUR!!!!!), across the desk from him??? He's reduced to having Democrats and ACTUAL PRESS PEOPLE (on a show called MEET THE PRESS...what a SURPRISE!!!!) and a heavy dose of news clips, to fill up the air time.

Look at his squinty, puffed eyes...he looks like he had a half bottle of bourbon for dessert last night!!! And all the panstick and powder in the world can't even out that mottled complexion, or soak up that flopsweat. How long before he shows up looking like he slept in his pricy suits?

He's got NO JUICE...you can see it. It will only be a matter of time before the inattentive viewers who only half pay attention start to realize it, as well.

He reaps what he has sown...the unmitigated bastard.

than the Twin.

He's scared shitless, walking a fine line. One by one, his sources are drying up. He's a know-nothing.

See what wearing a BUSH button on the back of your lapel gets you??? Why, it gets you the back of their hand!

Under the bus with you, Potato Boy!

NBC would be well advised to give that gig to David Gregory.

26. My very intelligent, well educated genius father, who has been a
life-long Democrat (in spite of the fact that he has always worked with Republicans, and golfs with Republicans and lives in Texas), still believed, as of a few months ago, that Russert is a Democrat. I tried to tell him about the B* Button, and he didn't believe it. Wonder what he thinks today, after Russert's oh, so obvious partisan treatment of Pelosi? If Russert can fool my well-read Dad, he can fool a lot of people.

27. He fooled a few of my diehard Dem relatives, too
Ya keep pointing out the inconsistencies to them, eventually they get it.

I managed to start a near riot over this very issue in a nursing home over him awhile back...quite proud I was of it, too. And the residents sure perked up! Instead of "Nice Irish boy..." they now hurl phrases like "Jerk! Con artist! Forgot his roots!! BUM!!!" at the screen when they see him.

Dem voters, all...!

22. That's it..., that's just the connection I was in need of...
The humble Russet Potato...

The not-so-humble Tim Russert...
versus Mister Potatohead! Fit's him like a glove. If we get some accessories like yellow rimmed glasses, green cap and a black plastic moustache and he'll match perfectly--both in physical appearance and in intellectual acumen.

Tim 'Russert'... and of course, now I realize how appropos his name is too (though not a perfect match with 'Russet'). Seems like proof there is a God and that He has a sense of humor--how else could such a humorous combination appear? Just kidding, with a couple of hundred million people, a limited set of words, and the power of our imaginations, such 'coincidences' aren't unlikely at all--and it wasn't a quite perfect match. Still, he is rather a cosmic joke.

Still, chowder head (potato is often a major component of chowder) is an annoying swollen head for the fact he wants to pretend (along with, alas, many other media talking heads) that he (and his show) present a balanced view. It certainly could, if it only would. Alas, he can't help but ask his questions from an underlying bias... it's almost worth watching him just to make note of the unspoken "frames" his questions project. Begrudging credit goes to him, because the Democrats appearing on his show are often successfully manipulated by those frames--while I spew a stream of invectives at my television hoping the Democrat will see through it and find a clever way to slice and dice his presumptions (to make French fries).

It's good to see he's on edge and may be getting his long overdue comeuppance!

He's a Star! (too bad)

10. He would not let her finish her answers
He kept interrupting and arguing with her. Yet, he lets those "polished" liars talk on-and-on until I start yelling at the TV.

I think she did a great job.

Impeachment: asking for impeachment before the facts are gathered is like asking for a guilty finding before the police finish a criminal investigation. She is exactly right. The democrats are not about a lynch-mob, they are about the law.

18. How many times did he ask about repealing Bush's tax cuts?
He was determined to get her on record as advocating the repeal of Bush's tax cuts, as allegedly the only way to pay for the programs promoting energy independance. While I agree that there will probably need to be a significant amount of infrastructure investment to achieve energy independence, and I am all for repealing Bush's tax cuts, the oft repeated assertion on Russert's part was inappropriate, as well as being factually incorrect. There are plenty of ways to pay for these things, like eliminating a lot of the tax subsidies that the energy companies get, and give real incentives towards the development of alternative fuels and technologies. He was just trying to get her to mention repealing the Bush tax cuts, just so they could strip away the context and use that as a campaign ploy. I'm glad she didn't give him the satisfaction.

20. I went to the MTP website and shot him an angry email.
I would urge everyone else to do the same.

I told him that it must get tiring being a pseudo pit bull. I bet he cannot wait for his next republican guest, so he can lob softballs at him or her. I ridiculed him for the interview of the fake Bush.

I don't watch him often. I will continue this practice. I told him that, too.

30. If/when Scooter actually goes to trial, one imagines Timmy will be a
witness for the prosecution and Libby's team will try to tear him apart. Remember, it's Russert's deposition to Fitz denying that he knew about Valerie Wilson's CIA employment or told Libby about it that led to one of the counts in Libby's indictment.

Libby had claimed he first learned about Plame from Russert. When the evidence made clear that he knew about Plame long before his conversation with Russert, Libby claimed he forgot that he knew and thought he was hearing for the first time about Plame from Russert. But Libby's still claiming (via the court filings) that Russert told him about Plame, so his defense team will attack Timmy's memory/credibility.

Timmy's shtick, tough on Dems/accomodating to lying Repubs, is because he's "seen the light," his position and his paycheck, via a General Electric light bulb.

I lost any and all respect for Tim Russert years ago, when he interviewed Rush Limbaugh and did not challenge him at all. And I mean in the least; gave the pilodinal twit a platform. It was the single most disgusting interview I have ever seen, and that says a lot. Rush's Official Chronicler and Apologist. That's Russert's legacy.
