14. Here's the real story on Raw Story (from John Byrne)

I wrote to John and Larisa, using addresses I found on the Raw Story / Blue Lemur forum (http://forums.bluelemur.com/). Here's how John responded:

We're moving servers. It seems like there is nothing we can do. Our programmer errantly did the move mid-week.

So, they'll gradually come back online as the new DNS propagates, etc., but it hard to say exactly when.

18. you might try some "proxy browsing" services

some of which might get to the new site sooner than your local ISP will allow, due to slow DNS updates. The DNS services at my ISP seem to generally lag behind the rest of the world. It looks like they're staying with the same host, but moving from one shared server to another, so we can't visit their site using the new IP address.

The best thing is probably just to wait until tomorrow and see if everything has resolved, because the "new" server was probably loaded with a "stale" version of their site anyway (copied to a backup file and then restored), and the people who update the content probably can't get to the new server until all the dust settles either.
