Survey: Between the pushy and the clueless, it's the cell phoners that annoy drivers the most.

1. My pet peeve is not even up there (in the top ten)
Mine is amazingly slow Accelerators.
You know..Folks..I don't expect you to drag race but when the light turns green, think about
the fact that there are about 25 cars behind you that just, maybe.. would like to
"Make the light" and not sit there another 5 minutes because..
..IT FUCKING TAKES YOU 3 BLOCKS TO GET UP TO THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 30 FUCKING MILES PER HOUR!!

But it doesn't really bother me.

6. And their cousins, the ones who like to anticipate the yellow
you know, slow down at a green, just because maybe, just maybe it will turn yellow.

2. There's a few missing from My Top 10

and their #10 doesn't even make my list.

The driver who puts on his/her brights half a mile behind you in the daytime, to let you know you should be getting the fuck OUT of their way, regardless of how fast you are already going (which could already be above the speed limit) and barrels up the road until he/she's forced you out and into the middle lane, or is riding your bumper (possible if you are in heavy traffic and are reluctant to accelerate to 85-90 to get in front of the 18-wheeler in the middle lane, purely for his/her convenience) and flashing those brights like crazy.

The driver who is crazy to pass you on the left as you drive in the middle lane, or wants you out of the fast lane, only to get off at the very next exit (which was all of 1/4 to 1/2 mile away). THINK about where you're getting off a little in advance, eh?

The driver (and this is Definitely annoying) who is planning on making a right turn (but hasn't yet signaled) while you're at the intersection looking for a left turn opportunity, and they only signal the turn WHEN They're making it! You'd have had an opportunity for your turn, if they hadn't been so bloody inconsiderate and STUPID. Signals are the only means we have of communicating our intentions to other drivers; use them!

3. Minor, but frustrating:
1. The parent that thinks they don't have to follow the drop-off rules for their kids at school. Sometimes they put their kids in danger by dropping off at the wrong place. Other times they just screw up the car line for the rest of us by causing it to get backed up. I'm anal about this shit because it is inconsiderate of them.

2. A driver, engine engaged, (usually SUV here) on their cell phone on school property while little kids are walking all around them.

4. The wide turn
when you're following someone down a country road and they signal to make a right hand turn into another road or driveway. Then, just as they start their turn, they swing out into the opposite lane and make that wiiiiiiide sweeping turn as if they're driving a tractor trailer.

As far as the list in the OP, I thnk tailgaters are by far the most annoying.

5. a couple of mine
Drivers who use cruise control as an excuse to not think about what's going on around them. They can't be bothered to speed up or slow down to allow traffic to merge, or it takes them three minutes to pass a semi who then can't get out of the way of merging traffic or other obstructions...

Drivers who cheat -- if a lane is slow, but it's the only one to their destination, they drive in the fast lane anyway and cut into the front of the slow lane.

Who really cares about someone who leaves their turn signal on?? If someone's that easily angered, they have a problem.

7. Number 2 is my top pick
We have stupid left lane exits all over the place here (what genius came up with that?) So you get grandma pulling into the fast lane 5-6 miles before she's due to get off. And driving S-L-O-W. Or the worst: the self-righteous left-lane driver. (The speed limit may say 55, but no one, I mean no one but this person does 55 in the left lane.) But you know, they need to make sure everyone else on the road knows they're right...

And gloms up the whole works.

The passing lane is for passing. If you're not passing the cars to your right, move on over. Is that so hard?

8. Please use your turn signals!
Especially when switching lanes! It IS the only way to communicate with other drives and is courteous and will avoid MANY accidents. There should be constant Public Service reminders on TV and radio. I think it's just being lazy and dangerous not to use them. I'm in Florida and with the many tourists and Snow Birds who are unfamiliar with new roads and buildings, turn signals would help greatly.
