Jason Leopold: Clears Up Some ?s In Radio Interview "Things Are Good!"

Leopold on the radio:

I just heard a full 30 minutes of Jason Leopold being casually interviewed and taking questions on a liberal talk show.

The bottom line is that he sounded VERY confident of the following:

1) GJ meets tomorrow at 9:30 EST
2) Rove received a target letter a month ago
3) Fitz had charges drawn up a month ago for false statements and perjury, but not obstruction
4) The “no target letter” spin was carefully phrased by Luskin to mean “only in relation to Rove’s most recent appearance”
5) The “nothing for at least 10 days” story was spin control to keep the story out of the news cycle.
6) A Friday press conference is predicted to be announced Thursday
7) The investigation will continue to remain open.
8) Rove will be indicted for false statements and perjury, and conceivably, but not probably, obstruction of justice.

Make what you will of it. We’ll know soon enough.

A number of the big money folks are, not surprisingly, friends of that noble Dick Cheney. It has been said that several of these people are unhappy with Scooter for naming Dick and George. They call his testimony to the grand jury "the gospel of Judas." I'm wondering if Karl, who has pointed his finger at Cheney in private, will get the support that Libby has?

I think Cheney was the mastermind behind the entire deal and merely used Rover to do what he does best manipulate the media. No doubt Karl was complicit, but I still think all roads lead back to Dicky poo. Poor dumb Chimpy will be dragged into it somehow, although I believe he was irrelevant in the whole scheme of things. The entire Iraq War was the idea of Cheney and his Neocon pals. Bush was the window dressing.

17. I don't think I agree. Whether or not the WHIG clued him in along

the way, he seems to have been full on board the sharing and conniving on that flight to Africa.

In a corporate structure - Cheney would have authorized Libby and Bush would have authorized Rove. I don't think they set it up that way. I think Rove has been reporting to Cheney all this time.

My guess is that the barons who agreed to Bush as the fund raiser and back slapping born again front man arranged for Cheney to run the entire show from day one with Rove reporting directly to Cheney. Rove = coach and caretaker of Bush, operative for Cheney, operative for RNC.

The WHIG's investigations had, of course, uncovered who Wilson was married to long before that flight, and so while Mr. Fitzgerald was very interested in the flight, you are correct that Mr. Rove was an active participant in the sliming of Wilson & Plame. I also agree with the previous statement that Cheney and Libby manipulated Rove to do some of the dirty work for them. Weasals, all.
