Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. says Nevada blast is a bad idea
Guv says Nevada blast is a bad idea

United front: Huntsman wants the test relocated; Matheson, Bennett and Hatch demand more data
By Judy Fahys

The Salt Lake Tribune

Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. wants the government to scrap an upcoming explosion at the Nevada Test Site.

Speaking Thursday at his monthly news conference, the Republican governor echoed concerns voiced this week by members of Congress, saying Utahns need better proof the "Divine Strake" blast won't harm them or spread nuclear contamination from previous tests in the environment.

"We are downwind," said Huntsman. "I believe that, obviously, we need a strong national security position, a strong defense position, and capabilities to protect us abroad. But do the testing somewhere else, where citizens aren't downwind."

Entire story here.

Sorry guv, but you're screwed. Utah should have known, even before 72 percent of their people cast their votes in 2004 for the Chimp, that he just does not care one little bit about you, the country, or anything except his upper one percent base of haves, and have-mores.

And you folks out there in Utah just are not part of that exclusive little list.

Radiation, fallout, higher cancer rates and mutated babies for the next 5 generations? Puh-leese. This group partied and ignored New Orleans as they drowned, and their people started dying of disease and malnutrition.

Remember this picture?

What a great time these criminals had while people were drowning, and afterward the SOB "inspected" the area by flying over it in Air Force 1?

You actually think this group is going to stop playing with their toys in the desert, and delay the date they have set to nuke Iran because it may hurt some more innocent people?

That's all this group knows how to do. Your fucked. Sorry.

1. We should test our bombs over there so we don't have to test them here.
Or some stupid shit like that.

10. Conventional Explosives blast a cover for a live fire
One of the main ways that nuclear detonations are discovered is by the seismic shock wave they produce. Detectors all over the World would likely detect any test and be able to plot the origin of the blast. Detonating a large conventional explosives charge simultaneously would give cover for the type of weapon that is being developed. Any radioisotopes released to the atmosphere could be explained away by arguing that they were residuals from earlier tests that were kicked up by the conventional blast.
